Noel: I've got this for my Home Assistant setup running on a RB Pi 4 and it works fine, the dongle immediately detected by bluetooth show command without loading additional drivers. The Pi's own bluetooth has a very short range. This dongle has a much wider range. My Pi is hidden inside the kitchen cabinet and it can still reach my outdoor BLE sensors from Xiaomi in the garden (soil & humidity testers and temperature sensors).

Christian Gelinas: Same signal strength as my 5$ CSR4 Bluetooth adapter.
My keyboard stop working after 1,5 meters like my 5 $ cheap dongle.
Tested with my phone Bluetooth signal analyzer.
No way this adapter signal can reach 50m , best tested is 10 m at -97db

Christine: If your computer does not have built-in blue-tooth for your wireless peripherals (headphones, webcams, etc), this device may be just what you're looking for. Easily plugs into a standard USB port. My wireless headphones work perfectly with this little dongle.

George Carlin's ‘Stuff’: Very Quick Auto-Install on My 5-Year Old HP Elite 2570p Business Laptop with Windows 10, Works Great with All My Devices. I am in I.T., and it’s the quality I would expect from Tripp Lite. It may stick out a little further than some folk prefer, but it probably needs to, for Class 1 distance communications. It doesn’t stick out so far to cause concern for me.

BradBrad: Finally got it working in Windows 10. Use the included CD and do not download anything from their site. If the installer tells you there is a new version of BlueSoileil, do NOT update!

The downloads on their site seems to be a scam. The download link itself is hidden behind a registration wall. Once you get past that they try and make clueless users pay $20 for some crapware software called cPhone to get it to work.

If you manage to jump through the hoops and install the downloaded version (make sure you uncheck cphone!), it wont even work and has many of the features disabled or missing that are standard for the BlueSoileil version that is included on the CD.

WIFI DOG: Tripp Lite Mini Bluetooth USB Adapter 4.0 (Class 1), Up to 164ft Range, 7 Devices (U261-001-BT4)

Got it to work with Win7 Pro 64bit. It has only somewhat better range than a class2 adapter.

Per Tripp-Lite support site "if CU885A is printed on the back of the adapter, you have version2 that requires BlueSoleil.software".
Version2 has been shipping since Sept 2017. I have Ver.2.
Lo and behold BlueSoleil included with the adapter is only evaluation software good for 30 days! The software is NOT available on the Tripp-Lite website.
Also once installed it made my Kinivo BT240 headset inoperative, Would not pair.
Lastly for those Synology users it was not recognizable by my DS214play Diskstation.

With the connection distance blowing it out of the park I only have praise for this product, Especially... at this price point. Packaging was store quality, the item has a long USB stem (longer than most) as well as the Tripp-Lite Logo printed on the side of the plastic. There is a faint, flashing, blue light as well as a small hole to insert a lanyard if that is something you need.
