afioreafiore: I feel like this is one of those items that should come with instructions that you have to dig out of the trash after you so confidently failed to put it on. I wore this wrong longer than I care to admit.
It's a bit difficult to velcro your own pinky tightly enough, but it's much better than the splints that just go on your finger. The hand strap makes it feel much more supported, although it does rub against my knuckles and itches sometimes. Hoping this will help my trigger finger!

BV: It does help, though not fully suitable for a bent finger due to "Dupuytren's Syndrome", ie tendon muscle swelling node preventing complete finger straightness: - apparently there is a surgical procedure to lengthen the node).

Johansen60: This finger brace really worked well--without it, my fingers would curl up and lock every night....waking in agony was not a fun way to start my day...soaking gnarled fingers in hot water and aggressively massaging them to open....OUCH !!
I put the brace on at bedtime...fingers remained straight all night (rarely fell off during sleep)

Michael Harvey: It provided support and rigidity for my little finger. This is after an injury doing yard work. Downside is there are some jobs that it interferes with and it can also get dirty. Probably best to wear stretchy gloves if doing something.
