Travel in Comfort with This Airline-Approved Soft-Sided Pet Carrier

Jaysun Trueheeyo: This would be perfect if it was just a little bit larger. This is so uncomfortable for my small dachshund and even my cat. I would not take them on an airplane using this carrier. Also wish it had more pockets for food, treats, bowl. Etc.

Misty-Day SamplesMisty-Day Samples: My husband and I recently moved from a duplex we were renting to a new house. We have four cats and out of the four of them, only one is what I would call “extra large”. To be Frank, Grouch resembles a bowling ball with legs, a head and a tail. The last time he was weighed he was 17 pounds but I’m certain he’s at least 18-19.

Most carriers do not accommodate such large cats and the ones that do are very highly priced (in my experience). I bought a carrier in the last which worked well for him, but I needed carriers for the other cats who are no where near as large so I decided to try out different ones to see if one was better than the other, etc.

This one, out of the other two I have, is my absolute favorite. It’s pink, it has many compartments, it seems very comfortable and what’s more is Grouch FIT! And it wasn’t a cramped fit, like he was squeezing into a size 14 jeans when he’s a size 16. There was actually a little room left on the sides. I don’t think he could actually turn (that would most likely be asking too much) but at least it wouldn’t hurt him to be in it.

As long as you hold this carrier (with an XL cat in it) like you would...

InezInez: I love this carrier! Great design, very pretty and sturdy, and my little-over-10lb boy has enough space in there to lie down and turn around. We used it to take him to the vet and it worked great. He does not like to stay in a carrier much and since he is leash trained, I let him out while we were waiting, and the doors let him easily go in and out. We did not need it last time, but the opening on the top will work great for taking out shy cats from the carrier. I do have a shy cat and will test it with her next time we take her to the vet. (Speaking as someone works in the veterinary profession, we LOVE carriers with top openings! Makes everything SO MUCH easier). We will use this carrier for a road trip across the country soon, and I will update after the trip.

Update:
We recently used this carrier to take our girl cat on a few trips, one of them being 800+ miles long. The carrier works great, and she is comfortable sitting and sleeping in it. However I noticed another problem, probably a problem for all soft-sided carriers, that it does not work well for a hyperactive cat.
