The rest using huge wall anchors(not included). Great for building hand strength and hanging grip. Feels like ROCK. Thought it was more resin like from the pictures. An added bonus in my book. Recommended.

Aly: Mounted as suggested on wood plank before wall securing due to stud difference in my home. I’m 46kg and split the wood plank o half off the wall. Mount stayed, but not safe. Once I found a narrower doorway, all hold positions are safe to aggressively pull up on.

Henry: My daughter loves climbing so I got her this to help strengthen her grip when climbing rock surface. It's tough, but effective, offering a variety of holds.

zadezade: The actual hold itself is great quality, feels like the holds at the gym however it feels like 0 thought was put into the mounting holes, the distance between them makes it nearly impossible to mount it into studs without either a backing plate or anchors, good holds though.

Alexandra: We are mostly happy with this.
It was a pain to hang up since the bolt holes do not line up with studs (and we were placing it over stairs so were not willing to risk 1 stud and then anchors). The holes are also smaller than the screws they provided so the screws cut into the material when you tighten them (before they even get to the smaller ledge to keep them in place).
Other than the difficulty with the installation this has been nice to have.
It was a little creepy to use at first because is creaked a bit, but it finally settled. We use is every time coming down the stairs. It is a bit cheese grater-y so it does beat up your hands, and it would be nice if it had some holds that were flat, most of them slope so its not really good for beginners who dont have the finger strength to start with. (This may just be our issue since its over the stairs if you fall you land a further 3 ft down on tile so its a little more scary than if it was just over a doorway with a flat surface underneath.)

Sagar JhaSagar Jha: I've been using this for about 3 months now and I love it! It's got a lot of great holds, two/three finger pockets, and it works very well. I can feel myself already getting stronger for sure.
Installation is pretty simple - just make sure you know what you're doing and I'd highly recommend using a backing piece of wood and pilot holes!

Matthew Beyer: OK so the galaxy brains that designed this put the mounting screws at 17.5" apart, so they won't mount directly on standard studs spaced 16" apart. Minor annoyance perhaps, and probably better to mount on a piece of plywood anyway.
After solving the surprisingly tricky geometry problem of locating the pilot holes in the studs, offset in the plywood to align to the center of the doorframe (basically, I swear I did follow the "measure twice, cut once" mantra)... started mounting it, pulled out the level and realized it was a little off. So I ended up having to rotate my plywood mounting slightly to make the hangboard level, now the plywood is slightly askew next to the doorframe and I'm annoyed about how it looks. Confused where I went wrong... I put my level between the screw holes in the hangboard and realized that THOSE weren't even. So that's where I went wrong, basing my measurements off a bad assumption about the symmetry of the hangboard itself.
(I mean really where I went wrong was not reading the amazon reviews carefully and not comparison shopping enough. But anyway, I mean, who reads any more, come on, it's 2020)
Looking at it closer, I am quite...

Vonschlippe: This is by all means a decent board and it will get the job done.
I'm removing a star because the instructions say that the board can be mounted onto wall studs or any framing member behind wall gypsum, provided you mark their location with a stud-finder. This is ***not possible*** because the provided screws are not long enough to clear the thickness of wall gypsum AND securely attach into a stud; they're at least an inch too short for that. As a result, the only way to mount this board with the provided screws is onto a board, which is then screwed into wall studs.
I don't think the person who wrote the instructions ever tested them out with the provided screws, and that's worrying.

Darian BeglawDarian Beglaw: I was extremely impressed with the quality of this hangboard. It’s nice and heavy and feels like real rock. Installation was east because I have an unfinished basement so I just used a floor joist.
