I am happy with product. Download and install drives for linux from their website.
Note: The kernel supported is upto 4.11.x while the latest kernel is 5.x so think wisely. If you need support of latest tech and harware, don't buy it (for e.g. after downgrading to 4.11.x I am not able to USB-Tether my android phone)

C. FarmerC. Farmer: I installed this in a MacBookPro5,4 (mid 2009) running OSX 10.11.6 (El Cap) using the latest drivers from TP-Link available from their website. The driver installation was effortless and worked immediately with no issues. The adapter is plugged into a USB 2.0 port and my network is provided by an Archer C7 v2 router. WRT internet speeds, when plugged into the router directly I get around 105mbps (slightly more than I pay for actually), on wifi sitting 5' from the router I get about 85mbps, when I'm about 75' away through several walls I get about 70mbps. WRT absolute throughput speed I test copied a 10GB file from my NAS and got steady read at around 240mbps which is about as fast as my USB2.0 port will read from anything (tested on a variety of high speed thumb drives). I suspect you could improve the throughput a bit if you had USB3.0 but for internet usage it will do nothing for you. This is very good performance for a wireless network, the long range performance is much better than my old 802.11n setup. My only gripe with this thing is that I cannot view the link speed or wireless type of the adapter given the Mac version of the driver utility software...

They are working great for me! I say "they" since I bought 2 of these, one for each of my PC's that I recently upgraded from Windows 7 to 10. One note of interest - I did the Win 10 upgrades in mid-April 2016, so I think the Win 10 changeover has already worked through many of the issues others have noted from older installs.
I had no issues upgrading either of my PC's to Win 10 other than the wifi went wonky on both after completing the installs. I previously was using ancient Medialink wifi adapters and after doing a little research found that they were not going to cut it with Win 10. I already have an Archer / TP-Link C9 router, so I looked into Archer / TP-Link wifi adapters since I have been very pleased with the C9. I ended up buying this one due to the features and reviews, though was a little perplexed by some of the negative reviews.
In my case though, they were both totally plug and play with Windows 10. I did nothing other than eject the previous wifi adapter using the Windows eject hardware icon, then installed the new Archer T4U and Windows did the rest. Totally plug and play. Again I think that maybe since I waited to upgrade Windows...

This was the perfect upgrade to go along with my Netgear AC router. My original office location afforded me a LAN connection to my AC router but a recent change made me go wireless on my desktop. The only wireless adapter I had was a Netgear N150 USB which is a decent little device, but it was noticeably slower than my LAN connection I had, so I knew it was pointless running an AC router using an N USB device, because I couldn't even connect to my 5G network.
So I ordered this GREAT AC1200 USB network adapter from TP-Link. I've used their hardware at a corporate level with wireless print servers and wireless PCI cards and was always impressed with the performance. This USB didn't disappoint. It included a small CD which contains a no-frills user friendly GUI download window for the driver and utility installer. The wireless utility is also very nice.
I had my system up and going in less than 5 minutes. Had I used the 'WPS' button it would have been even quicker, but I'm old school and just like to setup my networks manually. I downgraded this to 4 of 5 stars for two reasons:
#1 - This device is large, larger than a standard BIC lighter and is...
