Kaley: One of my Easter books I purchased for my almost 3 year old. It's so hard to beat the original old lady who swallowed a fly story, this Easter version did not compare. The original is easy enough a 1-2 year old could understand the concept - eat each animal from smallest to biggest. This story has the lady swallowing different items to make an Easter basket- straw, basket, bow , etc. Because it wasn't all animals or candy being swallowed , my toddler lost attention. She understood the picture of the easter basket at the end, but the story lost her.

BG: Not sure how I missed knowing this was an Easter book. It's cute. It's an important fact to realize, though, if it is being given as a Christmas gift. Maybe kids won't care?

GA Reviewer: My pre-k and K aged little ones adore this whole series of “old lady” books.
The rhythm and rhyme of it is a lot like the little old lady who swallowed a fly, but there’s a whole set of stores for various holidays and birthdays and such where there’s different items she swallows.
My kids find it funny.
Note there’s a difficult word here and there for a grade 1-2, but in general the pattern of it is also helpful for emergent readers to gather steam reading it with a lot of repetition.
It won’t be my first or last old lady book from this series.
Overall I’d highly recommend it.
