reader49:
I like the different recipes. Novice bakers may have trouble if they do not understand the basics of bread making. I prefer books on baking to have metric measurements for accuracy but there are conversion generators online that make that an easy task. Bread making is an old skill and very hands on. Veteran bakers 'just know' when the dough is right. Baking bread in a bread machine is easy, but knowing what a dough looks like at a particular stage helps.
I have had to modify some of the ingredient quantities. Mostly reducing the liquids. Check your recipe and if ALL the liquids including eggs, honey, molasses, butter, oil and the like add up to 1 1/2 cups per 2 1/2-3 cups of flour, reduce the liquid accordingly.
My other issue with the book is regarding eggs. I wish the author had stated what size of egg she used in the recipes. Using a medium egg or a jumbo egg changes the amount of liquid in a recipe and can greatly affect the recipe and cause the loaf to 'sink' in the middle. 'Crater loaf'.
I make it a habit to review and convert recipes to avoid disasters. The breads are lovely. If you educate yourself a bit on bread making with and without a bread...

baking31: I bought this as a Christmas present for my sister-inlaw. Her kids were buying her her first bread machine. This book has a lot of recipes, but more so, lots of pages with information about making breads and useful tips. My sister-in-law loves it and makes bread regularly using just this book.

Jill ZingleJill Zingle: This cookbook has literally everything you could possibly want!! If you're an avid bread maker , buy this book. The recipes are broken down into different size loaves so it's foolproof. And easy to understand even for a novice like myself. Includes recipes for sourdough starters if you're unsure. Trust me this will pay for itself immediately. There are so many amazing recipes that you most likely have ingredients for at home already. Definitely 5 stars!!

Peter:
Lots of choice when it comes to bread varieties.
We’ve started using our bread machine a lot more since buying this book.
The crusty French recipe makes a great loaf, and if you are looking for a good bread to slice and toast, then opt for the Italian loaf. Slightly denser with a great texture.
No reason to buy increasingly expensive breads that are full of additives. Making your own for a fraction of the cost is incredibly simple, fun, leaves the house smelling amazing, and uses surprisingly few ingredients.
Great buy!

JM: I have tried about 15 of the recipes and they have all turned out great! Friends have complimented the bread that has been made from this book and a few have said it was the best bread they have had. I have many bread machine cookbooks, but this is my favorite due to the consistently good results. I have a Breadman machine which turns out great bread from this book.
