ketofoodlover: It's very unusual that the book that arrived was not in perfect condition. The spine was slightly ripped inside the book. I will keep the damaged book. Otherwise, the book is stellar and I will be using it to cook!

Ashlee: As a busy working mom, this book has revamped the way I approach getting dinner on the table for my family. I used to spend an hour or more writing out a meal plan and grocery list each week, only to get to the market and realize a number of the ingredients I needed were out of stock, unappealing, or ridiculously expensive, thus throwing off that week's meal plan. This book is organized by type of vegetable or fruit, and empowers the reader to go to the grocery store or farmers' market, without much of a list in hand, and just buy what's in season, looks good and is affordable, then come home and figure it out. The author lays out what items to always have on hand in your kitchen to ensure you can throw a meal together, and is a bit more loose and imprecise in her instruction, which is how I prefer to cook, especially during this busier season of life. I also appreciate her little tips and tricks for using up and enjoying various fruits and veggies. For instance, don't buy baby carrots! Buy tiny, organic heirloom ones, as they're 1000 times better.
My husband is very much a "meat and potatoes" kind of guy, and as this is a vegetarian cookbook, it's helped bring more...

Avid Mystery Reader: What I loved most were the pictures of the food. I want to know what it looks like when the dish is completed. Second, I look for how easy the recipe is to cook. I also want one that does not use a ton of ingredients as I am looking for deliciousness and simplicity. What I also liked was the index of recipes in alphabetical order. I think this book has it all in terms of well organized and well presented to the eye of the reader.
