Mustafa Hamalawi: I like Robert Greene books but for me it is too long and he writes too many stories and long ones, if he just shorten them a little bit the book will be perfect
I recommend the book for everyone especially young people who are about to start their career or university.

Luki D: Love the case studies and research into the importance of mastery.
Would be interesting if he could create a step by step guide for youth that would like to pursue this path (as well as the older folks who want to go down that road as well)

Mike Mertens: This is an extremely powerful work on how to achieve mastery in one's life. Mastery can be thought of as the unique way each of us can fully actualize our potential for greatness and enjoy a fulfilling life.
Achieving Mastery in life is a lot of work but it is the way to a flourishing life (a life of self-fulfillment). Spinoza's quote "All things excellent are as difficult as they are rare" came to mind several times as I read the book. The author provides ideas and strategies that can improve the process for those willing to expend the effort. I plan to re-read and work with the ideas and strategies covered in this book and apply them to my personal context. I also plan to purchase copies of the book for my wife and 2 teenage sons so they can benefit from this material as well.
The work begins by discussing how to discover one's purpose in life. This is unique to each individual and needs to be well thought through. The author gives 5 strategies for finding your life's task and illustrates these strategies with historical and contemporary figures. Two of the strategies he discusses that really gave me a lot to think about are:
1. ) Occupy the perfect niche - the...

xan: As someone who typically shies away from self-help books, I was pleasantly surprised by Robert Greene's "Mastery." This book transcends the clichés and superficial advice often found in the genre, offering a profound exploration of what it truly means to achieve mastery in one's life.
What sets "Mastery" apart is its emphasis on personal development and the cultivation of genuine expertise. Greene draws upon the lives of historical figures and contemporary exemplars to illustrate the principles of mastery, highlighting the importance of persistence, discipline, and continuous learning.
What I appreciate most about this book is its nuanced approach to success. Instead of promising overnight transformations or quick fixes, Greene acknowledges the long and arduous journey toward mastery, emphasizing the importance of embracing challenges and setbacks along the way.
While "Mastery" may not be for everyone, I firmly believe that anyone who gives it a chance and seriously reflects on its teachings can derive immense value from it. This book has the power to inspire and empower individuals, particularly those who are young and still figuring out their paths in...
