Ellen F. Sack: A slow start until I really got into this book. Although fiction, it has the feel of non fiction as you live through the bombings from Hitler’s planes. The air raids, the destruction, the fires and the coming together.
Discovering the love of books & sharing that love with bomb shelter acquaintances, other book shop owners and those who visit the bookshop. To find out what this book contains you will just have to read the it.

JulTy: This book started slowly but definitely picked upon the middle. The references to so many classic literary works and the way the author described the power of reading were so relatable. I enjoyed this book.

mannfried: Loved the use of actual book titles through the books few I still need to read. Learned some new things about life during WWII which is always interesting. Overall a sweet, charming book. l

Nancy Harvey: The Last Bookstore in London captivated me. It is a page turner even if it is on Kindle. Grace, the protagonist, is a tribute to the strength a woman has when her heart and soul are affected. It's also a story of courage and strength of the people in war torned areas. I loved this book and will recommend it to my friends.

J. A. Knott: I could not put this book down. An excellent and moving story in WWII London, a London my parents would have experienced but these characters are mainly civilians, coping as best they can and doing their best in incredibly difficult circumstances as tragically people still must in parts of the world.

Sonsie Meadows: I started this book yesterday evening and read it straight through, totally engrossed in London during WW2. My parents told me bits of their life there and then, and this story rang so true. The protagonist is charming and despite the horrors of the bombing of London, the author shows the humanity of people under deprivation and danger. I heartily recommend this book.

christine johansen: An interesting insight into London during the blitz & the power of stories to allow people to forget the horrors of the present.
It is very simply written & more depth could be given to the characters, but overall an easy read.

Maddy: I decided to buy this book after loving The Keeper of Hidden Books ( which is also an incredible read!). The way Madeline formulates her stories has me captivated for days, eager to get back to the story and find out what happens next. They are incredible reads filled with so much emotion you’ll find yourself immersed into the characters shoes. I can’t wait to read more stories from Madeline and I know if you read this you will be too!
