mary E Argo: This story captures the essence of the time and place of the Africa War. The love of family displayed against forces that will tear apart the bond. Survival is more than existing in a time when life is threatened by all things. Excellent read.

G M Niven: Two women linked by a journal written by one and found under floorboards of a house in Casablanca by the other. A story of French refugees from WW2 and African refugees in 2010. Of mental health and the strength to overcome the odds.
Highly recommended.

Bonnie: Sad, but hopeful, story about WWII and the trauma shared by multiple generations since.
The reader is drawn into two family sagas, both current and past.
Well written, though in need of spellcheck…

Kathleen. Thompson: I like to think I can figure out the ending of a book long before the end but in this case I was truly surprised. Lots of ups and downs but leaves you with hope.

Lowell Roberts: This is a wonderful story about a place I never knew anything about. I have read many books about World War II, but never knew anyone fled to Casablanca. This was beautifully written and very descriptive. I could really picture what it was like during the awful war years. The ending was quite surprising and quite heartwarming and a lesson in finding peace when all seems so lost. I recommend this to everyone for an interesting read.
