Mark Wolstermann: I love almost everything about it…the design, the quality, the little remarks that introduce the recipes…BUT: it is not a book for hobby chefs…I found some of the recipes quite ambitious. But that is not a real criticism, more of an assumption of someone who loves zonieret takeout! (Me!)

W. Lacy: I'm a die-hard Golden Girls fan and wanted this cookbook for the nostalgia and the recipes mentioned on the show such as Rose's bacon, lettuce, potato sandwich and her sperhuven krispies and Sophia's lasagna al forno. I'm disappointed with some of these other recipes, though. I'm an intermediate level cook yet some of these recipes are certainly above my abilities. I've never de-bearded mussels in my life! Also, some of the more complicated recipes are definitely not explained very well, for Sophia's recipes for sure. There could have been some photos detailing these steps, especially since there is quite a bit of wasted space on each page. Since this is a cookbook, I think more attention should have been paid to the recipes themselves. The food photos and Golden Girls dialog are great and I like how they tried to try it into the show. Each Girl has her own dedicated section of recipes. Dorothy certainly got the short stick in this book. It makes me sad because she's my favorite! One of her recipes is porkloin and on the show she states she doesn't even like loin of pork. Why would you give her a recipe for something she doesn't even like? She only has 3 savory meals and the rest...

Deborah Nye: Funny, heartwarming and a must have for all Golden Girls fans. It is filled with lots of familiar recipes such as Rose and Sophia's bacon, lettuce & potato sandwich as well as many others. There are quotes from the show all throughout the book. Even if you don't have cooking skills, this book is wonderful.

BluebirdBluebird: I’d been eyeing this cookbook for a long time before I finally got it earlier this year. Here are the pros and cons.
As Golden Girls memorabilia:
I’m a massive fan of the show and can recite most episodes by heart. This cookbook makes a valiant effort to build on the show, but for me, often falls flat - particularly when the author is making up stories to try and connect recipes that never appeared in the show to the characters. For example, there’s a section on meal planning in the Dorothy section that is justified as being important because she is always put together and has a plan. There are a few stills from the show scattered throughout, and several of the recipes which have a direct connection to the show have little cartoons depicting the scene the food would have been in.
Out of 94 recipes, only 18 (about 20%) have a direct connection to the show. Recipes straight from the show include things like Spuerhuven Krispies, Vanskapkaka, For Whom the Stuffed Bell Pepper Tolls, lasagna al forno, and Le Trout. Unfortunately, I feel like there are a lot of recipes that could have been in here that had a direct connection to the show but were instead...

AussieShepMum: I have hundreds of cookbooks because I like to try new things, but I ordered this one solely because I love The Golden Girls, and I honestly wasn't expecting that I would love the recipes that much... wondered if this cookbook was just a gimmick using the GG to entice people to buy it. Pleasantly surprised at the variety of dishes. Not every recipe has a photo, but the photos are attractive. There are quite a few photos of the girls from the episodes. The recipes are listed at the front, in categories (no index at the back). It is otherwise well laid out by each character (Dorothy, Blanche, Rose, Sophia) with recipes from each category for each character, and each recipe is prefaced by either a short reference to the episode as inspiration, or an instruction.
