The FURminator Long Hair deShedding Tool for Cats is the perfect choice for pet owners looking for a high-quality, easy-to-maintain, easy-to-use cat shedding tool. Its ergonomic design and build quality make it one of the best Cat Shedding Tools on the market. Perfect for cats with small coats, this tool will help keep your pet's fur healthy and free of excess shedding.

JuggernautJuggernaut: I got my very first pet (a cat) earlier this year and I started learning a lot of things. Like your place will have pet hair everywhere and you have to do a lot of cleaning. I thought it would be awesome if could just be one step ahead and prevent all of that if I could. I was looking around here for cat toys and I came across this. I thought it was really pricey and when I was adopting my cat I already did get a rake brush and thought that would be enough. Unfortunately the rake brush did not do too much for my cat's shedding and there was plenty of cat hair everywhere. That is when I decided to bite the bullet and buy this. I looked at it as an investment.
The brush itself is quite nice. My cat is around 9 pounds and I just chose to go with the large long hair tool as she might still grow and get bigger. The blade on the brush is made of metal and looks to be good quality. What is awesome about this brush and why it costs so much is that it grabs up a lot of hair/fur with just one stroke. I would advise not to brush your cat too hard as mine does not like that and runs away. Also, I had to have a bag of treats out to lure her out so I could brush her. Sometimes I can...

Chris: It does what it says. It does not provide a hair free home, in fact you will have more hair than before.
I did not think they could have improved on such a chore. but they did with this design AND the
technique you should use to get the most out of each brush stroke.
The design kinda requires you maintain some form of that angle toward the fur (when you come into
contact with skin, angle top of head [not the whole brush. Hold it straight up and down and then
push head a little forward to get the angle] a few degrees forward. This angle is what does it) so to
collect hair ON the brush. It takes hair off so well you will find bails of hair flying away, on the
sheets, the sofa and so on. You cant brush more than a few times, at a time, in order to collect
hair on the brush (it only holds so much at a time), otherwise it collects on your pet and everywhere
else. Flatten pet, angle, brush just a few times and remove hair and start again. Once, or twice a week,
is all you need. I brush 4 times, remove hair, and do over several times until much less hair, BUT
dont overdue, or you will find bald patches (I had to wait three weeks for one of our friends...

Elandwyn: I have a short-haired, eleven year old tomcat who has never been brushed. It's not that I don't care about grooming him, it's just that I swear to God I never knew you were supposed to brush cats. Dogs, maybe; horses, sure! But cats? They spend all day cleaning themselves! He's never had a bath, either. Am I a bad cat mom?
So anyway I bought this brush because the cat developed a little bit of a rash on his lower back (upper tail?) and I thought it might be best if he didn't swallow so much hair while trying to scratch it.
When I took the brush out of the box, the first thing I noticed was that it's heavy. It feels well-made. The handle is comfortable, and it doesn't look like it's likely to break anytime soon. I gave it a trial run through my own hair (is that weird?), and came out unscathed. This product has been tested on people! It didn't pull a single hair out of my head. I don't know what that says about me.
As for the cat, he was very excited to find me sitting on the floor in the living room. When he came up to investigate, I surprised him by running the brush down his back. This might not be the best tactic if you have a cat who trusts you. After the...

Joe the Prof: As my cat has gotten older, she's been less able to reach her back and hind areas and has developed matting problems. This brush is excellent for taking care of the problem. The matted hair just comes right off in big clumps. You do need to be gentle and best to hold her down, otherwise the brush can end up dragging her around until the hair lets go, which she doesn't like. She does seem to be happy with the results, even if not necessarily happy with the process (with denser matts). As for the resulting hair, I've read that it makes excellent compost material, so I just throw it into the kitchen compost bin.
