"FURminator DeShedding Tool: Reduce Shedding and Keep Your Dog's Coat Healthy"

Kaya: I have a long haired half ragdoll cat who loathes being brushed and a fur coat that easily becomes tangled and matted, often because he rolls around in the flower beds and gets seeds etc stuck in his fur. I had the previous model but accidentally threw it out so replaced it with this one, this newer version is even better because it has a longer handle which makes it even more comfortable to use. It is lightweight but sturdy and very well made. It is fantastic at removing the loose and dead fur, and great for maintaining the coat. I use it a little each day for maintenance and it always removes the fur easily. It amazes me how much is removed each time. It is easy to remove the fur from the comb teeth by pressing the retractable button which releases it. The teeth don’t appear to hurt the cat at all, you can easily run your finger along it and it doesn’t scratch or nick, it feels smooth. A great brush to have, highly recommend.

allisonallison: My daughter recommended the furminator to me, previously I would brush Jasper everyday and only get a small amount of fur. Despite the daily brushes, my clothes would have cat hair on them after picking Jasper up and when he was stroked you could see cat hair coming off him. I purchased the furminator for large cats (he's an 11 month bengal marine coon cross). I did think it was a bit pricey at £21 for a cat grooming product. Having used it I would say it's worth it. I read the instructions and went onto you tube to see how other cat owners used theirs. The recommendations were to continue with normal daily grooming and use the furminator for 10 to 20 minutes once or twice a week. I have just done 10 minutes once a week. Jasper loves it, purring all the time. There's a white thing on the furminator that you push in to remove the fur as you groom. The first picture is the first time I used it, the second picture is the second time of use, you can see the difference in cat hair removed with the furminator when compared to the slicker/bristle bush. Deb: I love cats! I don't love their hair everywhere. I use a tape type lint roller on my cat daily. I comb her weekly. The first time I used this de-shedder tool; I couldn't believe the amount of under coat I got. I will be using this tool once monthly to keep the hair at bay. She even likes it! Great purchase!

Valerie: This comb is heavier than similar products. The handle is easy to grasp and allows the comb to get out the undercoat more readily. We have short, medium length and a long haired cat. This was effective for all three coat/fur lengths. A few of the short haired cats are not cooperative, so I still use a slicker brush for them.

Melissa: I would not recommend this for long hair cats. Will it get out the fur, yes. Will it pull the hell out of their fur, yes. I feel it needs to be wider and of a longer depth of comb teeth. My cat doesn't mind being brushed at all, but this thing would pull his hair out and that bothered him. It will get out that under coat. My cat will tolerate just about anything, except this brush. He would bite it no matter how gentle i was. I think the may be great for shorter haired pets. Not so much for longer hair.
