TannaTanna: As a fellow camping family, we were allowed to receive a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
First of all, the book is divided into two sections: one dedicated to car camping, and the second dedicated to backpacking / backcountry. The recipes I found in this book were quite original! It is certainly nice to meals different than your traditional barbecue and sandwiches recipes that you often hear about when it comes to camping.
I love that so many recipes had a section explaining what you could prep at home to save time while camping. As a family with two little ones, I certainly appreciate doing less work while we are out!
I recently tried two recipes during our last camping trip: the campfire Pizza log, and the teriyaki steak kabobs, although I substituted the steak and used shrimp instead. Both recipes were easy to prep at home and enjoyed by the family!
I personally enjoyed the layout of the book, as well as the way the categories were divided. The layout is easy to read, and the instructions easy to follow. The book includes a few vegetarian options, but most recipes have a meat or fish component.
This is neither a pro nor a con,...

Laura MeauxLaura Meaux: LOVED the prep at home for each recipe. It actually helps prep a whole camping trip! Also- didn’t skip over the first 12 pages just to get to the recipes and I’m so glad I didn’t. So many useful tips foe campers. This camp cookbook is accessible for your everyday camp person! It’s broken down nicely and very clearly laid out. The prep ahead method is SO helpful. Ms. Amelia Mayer has made camp cooking very accessible and easy with a little bit of prep. As 15 year car campers, she gave us things I wish we would have known all these years!

Mama K: This little book is packed with fresh, healthy & fun recipes for your next camp trip. I’m so excited to try these recipes out next spring when the snow starts to go! Honestly I’m going to try some at home this winter.
We primarily camp with our pop up trailer currently & I feel like I’ve fallen into such a rut of basic brats/burgers/blah. So the first section of this book was amazing & full of fresh inspiration!
Next up, the backpacking section seems especially helpful as this is a relatively new style of camping for us. Tons of tips & meals to get us off with confidence!
I would recommend this for anyone who enjoys good food while camping, tons of stuff in here for beginners & seasoned adventurers alike.

Amazon Customer: Such a great cookbook! Filled with tips and carefully laid out, it was easy to read and plan with. I absolutely loved how Amelia carefully laid out within each recipe what to prep at home and what to prep at the campsite. Like others have said, it’s easy to just grab some hot dogs and call it good, so I’m excited to up my camping game with her yummy recipes.

Kindle Customer: What a great cook book. My family and I camp and backpack from May to October and are always looking for new recipes to make. Many of the recipes are camping and backpacking classics, but there are alot of new recipes as well that I wouldn't have thought of. It's nice to have all the camping and backpacking recipes in one spot instead needing multiple cookbooks.

MJohn: I bought this book for a weeks camping holiday and thought it might give me some ideas but feel disappointed. It's full of Americanisms, obscure ingredients and constantly cites dutch ovens throughout the first half. Not really sure who it is aimed at alot of recipes involving prep at home as the first step. I don't think there's a single recipe that's useful
