dangaskill1: Interesting and well researched. I need sixteen words to post this review. I should be coming up on sixteen by now.

Lola CtD: Mr. Brady taught me about the resistance fighters in Holland during WWII that I never knew of. I knew of Anne Frank but never knew the lengths the resistance fighters they would go to hide and protect the Jewish community and fellow citizens. It is sad to learn that 75% of the Jewish community perished.
Mr. Brady’s research into the minds of these “Three Ordinary Girls” gripped my attention throughout the book. I cried at parts knowing how young these women were to pick up the fight and eliminate the enemy with remorse and justification.
A truly remarkable account of these extraordinary trio’s heroic fight.

Deb: This was a fascinating story about the resistance in Holland during WWII, that I wish I’d known about before now. (All those high school history classes focused on dates and battles. Sigh.) Learning about these brave young women and the horrors of the war in Holland was both inspiring and heartbreaking. I only wish I’d known all this before my mother-in-law passed away, as she was a teenager in Haarlem during the war. It would have been good to hear what it was like at that time for her and her family.
My only problem with the book - and this is why I took away a star - is the writing. The slang he uses - referring to “kids” and “guys” and using expressions like “the hairy eyeball” - seemed jarring and immature. Despite that, it’s well worth reading.

AvidReader: I would have given this book 5 stars except for no mention of what happened to the Dutch collaborators with the germans.it was an interesting book and shows the horror of war.

A Net In Time: Not quite what I expected I thought it would be a story but it's for a historical account of what was going on with these young ladies. Quite informative.

Jayare: Well written. This narrative gets quite intimate with the trio Hannie, Truus, and Freddie and their lives as resistance fighters.

Golden Falcon: I found this book awkwardly written with oddly out of place modern idioms. It failed to conjure up any atmosphere for me.
Yes, it had facts aplenty, but I was never "there with them". Never felt their fear and tension.
At the end the author mentions a few previous books written about the people involved.
Perhaps it would have been better to have left it at that.

Krankster: This book is amazing in the amount of detail that the author has collected surrounding the activities of these three young individuals during the war years. As in any major conflict, the zealots become the “ occupier’s “ greatest supporters. When the tide starts to turn against the occupiers, — the “ credit grabbers” come out of the woodwork ( and out from under the rocks ) and claim ownership of activities that others have sacrificed so much for.
The book reads more like a novel — rather than the true account of history in the making.
The truly amazing aspect is that the three individuals where all in their late teens..
A splendid read for any history buff,
