Amanda pratt: With this book, my family sits down and has a Regan style meal every Sunday! Great easy to follow recipes with the allowance of spice tinkering and substitutions sometimes, and fun behind the scenes facts of my parents favorite TV show! Win-win!

I grew up with the same Sunday dinner tradions here in Ireland and while half the recipes not for me as I more grew up on Sunday Roast Beef and Turkeys and chicken with the roast spuds and mash and marrowfat peas and carrots and my mammy makes the most yummy gravy ever,,, but brings a more imaginative ideas for Sunday dinner,,, or any day dinner. My tip,, try the Lasagna dinner,,, its totally yummy.

Crunchy Vaccine-Injured Socialist Xennial Hippie: I bought this Blue Bloods Cookbook because I’m a huge fan of Blue Bloods and I LOVE cooking & baking — and over the last couple years, I started buying (or am planning to buy) and collecting cookbooks based on some of my favorite books, TV shows and movies including The Anne of Green Gables Cookbook: Charming Recipes from Anne and Her Friends in Avonlea based on the Anne of Green Gables series of novels by L.M. Montgomery, and Eat Like a Gilmore from the TV series, Gilmore Girls , and Alice's Brady Bunch Cookbook from the TV & movie franchise The Brady Bunch and Bollywood Kitchen: Home-Cooked Indian Meals Paired with Unforgettable Bollywood Films from Bollywood/Hindi movies, obviously. Even though I have only made one recipe (sorta!) so far, I’m still glad I got these cookbooks, as a fan of the books, TV shows & movies that they are based on.
At some point I am also planning to buy the Little House on the Prairie cookbook(s) but there are so many versions, by a few different authors, I don't know which one is the better/best one to get (or if I should just...

Andrew S. Rogers: This is the second book I’ve reviewed in which the dietary preferences of one Tom Selleck are discussed. I suspect Larry Manetti’s chicken cacciatore recipe, described in Aloha Magnum: Larry Manetti's Magnum, P.I. Memories as a Selleck favorite, would go great with Bridget Moynahan’s bruschetta with tomatoes and basil appetizer and green beans almondine side … even if Tom himself would never touch the vegetables.
The gathering of the Reagan family around the dinner table is one of the centerpieces of the “Blue Bloods” show, and that idea of families uniting around food is the driving idea Moynahan and coauthor Wendy Howard Goldberg brought to this cookbook, too. “Blue Bloods” is not a show that’s raved about by the critics, but it’s solid, well written and well acted, and beloved by its many fans. The recipes in this book are kind of like that. Not haute cuisine, but solid, hearty favorites that families can make together, enjoy together, and share with others. And did I mention they’re good?
Some cookbooks, like say Mimi Thorisson’s A Kitchen in France: A Year of Cooking in My Farmhouse , almost qualify as escapist...
