Scott H. Schulhof: Bought this to empty the tank in my aerogarden (previously I was physically removing the water reservoir to dump when I needed) and it does the job well! Not a ton to it, but was a recommended product by my wife who uses this exact model and manufacturer's to empty our fish tank when it comes time to swap out for some new water. Can't really speak to it's use for anything other than those use cases, but based on our combined experiences would imagine that this would handle any application for removing just about any liquid from pretty much any tank, reservoir, etc.

Paul R.: The pump works as intended; two or three squeezes of the pump gets a steady flow going. Only do you need to continue to squeeze the bulb if your supply is not high enough over the receiving container to create a syphon. I particularly like the fact that the flow can be stopped by pushing the cap on the top of pump - no longer is there a knob to turn to kill the flow making things a lot easier. The only part of the pump I'm concerned with is the flimsy flexible hose - I feel a thicker, sturdier hose would have been more appropriate (maybe a bit longer, too). As is, the pump should be OK for occasional use around the house but I don't think it would hold up long in a commercial daily-use environment if that's what you are considering this purchase for.

Roger P. Miles: I bought this siphon even though the reviews were conflicting on whether it would work on small engine tanks like a lawn mower or snow blower. Some reviews said this was due to the long, wide draw tube and not enough gas in the tank to create and maintain the flow. Some said that shortening the draw tube would solve the problem. This made sense to me so I thought I'd give it a try.

There was less than half a tank in my snow blower. The siphon didn't create a constant flow and I had to keep squeezing the bulb. I'm sure this was due to the amount of gas and size of the draw tube, but wasn't a big deal as it only took 4 or 5 squeezes to drain the tank.

This was much better than the turkey baster I was using. The siphon didn't completely drain the tank and I used the baster to get most of the remaining gas. Shortening the draw tube might drain more gas, but I don't think it would be a significant difference.

The manufacturer must have read the reviews that complained the siphon didn't come with instructions because mine did.
