Joseph: This was a good product for the money I spent on it. I was able to get gasoline out of my riding lawn mower before the winter has started this year. The only thing I disliked about this is that the suction squeeze is really small. So you have to squeeze many times to continue filling up an empty gas tank. Other than that, the operation was clean, safe, and I didn't get gas everywhere.

Donald Duke: I had purchased a few handheld pumps to siphon fuel and to transfer water. They worked well but were cheaply made and didn’t last. I purchased one of these and I was blown away at how well they worked and how well they were made. I just purchased another to replace the cheap pumps.

FJK737: Heavy Duty in all respects, siphon hose had a little kink in it from packing but once it was sat in the sun for awhile it came right out. you could also just run hot water on it and I am sure that would work as well.

Chris from Cantley: I bought this to transfer gasoline from 20 litre fuel cans to my King Canada generator and while it does work, it takes far too long to be useful.

I tried everything to get this to work faster but nothing helps. I kept raising the fuel can higher and higher but that has little affect as long as everything (all hoses and the fuel can) are above the destination tank. Gravity can only do so much as the fuel flow is limited by the diameter size of the included hose.

Again, this works, but is far too slow to be useful for me. YMMV. Transferring 2 litres into something small, sure. Trying to transfer 40 litres of gas at a time, I recommend looking for something different. I am going to try the Terapump batterie operated fuel transfer pump next.

Critical Reviewer: There are similar products available locally that seems to be better in quality and price. you can get similar product in Canadian Tire for 20 dollars. The one sold in Canadian Tire is better because it has tubes attached to both sides of the pump whereas this one only has a small tube attached to one side of the pump. The tube is just too short to be useful. The price of this unit hurts the pockets a little. In my case, this unit was way out of my budget and was not useful. I bought it hoping that I can siphon gas my car tank to a gas container however it didn't work maybe because the tube is too short or because there is a some sort siphon protection device installed in the tank of most cars

Pascal M.: Utiliser pour récupérer l'essence qui était dans ma voiture qui devait partir à la casse (3/4 du réservoir de rempli).
Le principe et simple, on pompe avec la poire et une fois amorcée on la retire pour transférer le liquide.
Dans la pratique ce n'est pas aussi simple, en tout cas pour moi qui n'est pas très manuel, je me suis entraîné avec de l'eau pour avoir le coup de main afin de ne pas mettre de l’essence partout le moment venu.
Au final je m'en suis pas trop mal sorti et le tout a été très rapide grâce au diamètre du tuyau.
Pour ce qui est de la qualité de fabrication, rien à dire si n'est que que les matériaux utilisés sont de bonnes qualités et l'assemblage robuste.

Enfrance: Good old fashioned quality build. Instructions include many references about how to preserve the item's longevity - not the modern attitude to helping you to ruin it and then buy another. Would recommend without hesitation.

The Hose Manclip is excellent and a very handy device to help hold hoses in place. I am using it on a varity of 20 litre containers and it fits all of them which is very helpful.

In addition I can say that your siphon pump is the bees knees and is perfect for the job I’m doing. We make around 500 litres of comfrey liquid fertiliser for our garden each year. It is very smelly stuff and getting it on my hands is a nightmare and demands some drastic cleaning if I’m to be allowed back in the house.

To say that the pump works well is an understatement. Normally, using a plastic siphon and a jug I can take a day to decant 100 litres of the liquid into smaller containers from the vats where we brew the fertiliser. This last brew was decanted, bottled and stored in three hours, mostly because I could use 19mm hose which speeds up the process with a vengeance.

At last a siphon pump that is built to last, is easy to use and looks like it...

Aquariumologist: This is a very useful piece of kit and I'd recommend it to anyone who would rather avoid a mouthful of dirty water! As I do water changes on several fish tanks every week its quickly proven invaluable, especially when I want to start a siphon on a longer length of hose. By the way it will fit to a range of hose diameters - I use standard "garden hose" which is 1/2" or 12.5mm/13mm but it also works well on 15mm and probably many others.

I've knocked one star off because I do think it could be better designed in terms of the metal end pieces - the outlet end has a barbed nozzle for 12.5mm hose while the input end is tiered to fit inside 10mm to 15mm sizes. Ideally this end would be larger and also barbed so it could be left in place on some equipment, for example any pump that is not self-priming. For my specific purposes having two identical 12.5mm barbed ends would be ideal, though obviously much less flexible from a plumbing perspective.
