Movie Scumbag: Having something be Bluetooth based in your fridge is flat out lame I suppose maybe there’s some way of connecting the Bluetooth to some kind of Bluetooth hub and then having that connect to your Wi-Fi and routing or something but basically I just connected this to my phone and my fridge is too far away from my phone so I really couldn’t use it for any good alerting. That said it does have an awesome app and essentially when you go to the fridge, you can get the full history minute by minute or hour by hour or whatever it is and all through the night and so you can see when it’s getting cold or hot and all that and max and minimum temperatures. I got it so I could store medicine and not have the medicine go bad. I was amazed by how much the temperature actually fluctuates in my fridge just with all the people opened it during the day and then how freaking cold it gets at night so it did the job. It wasn’t that expensive it can broadcast right through a medicine box and outside of the fridge has a real nice interface downside is the Bluetooth doesn’t really go that far , so is it if you wanted to use it for a real time alert unless you’re using some kind of special hub...

Mary Benton: I ordered this after we had an extended (10 hour) power outage. Someone told me such devices existed and I was glad to find this one. I am always concerned about whether I have to throw out food that has been in the refrigerator during an outage. I try to keep the door closed but, I have no idea then how long the interior temperature was above 40 degrees. (Most advice says that certain foods may be spoiled after 4 hours above 40 degrees.) I feel horrible throwing out food that might be all right but I also really don't want to get food poisoning.

This item is good because it doesn't rely on the internet, which will be off if the electricity is off. The device connects with my cell phone by Bluetooth and keeps a record of the temperatures. Hence, even if my cell phone is uncharged or I am out of town and not within range, once I'm able to connect again, I will find how long the temperature was higher than it should be.

Now I haven't had a power outage since obtaining the device, but I know the temperature readings operate as they should. As soon as I connected the device to my phone, which was very easy, it started sending me alerts because the device was not yet in...

Aaron Reitz: I bought three of these (T1 hardware) in May 2021, so I've been using them for almost two years now. I have one in my attic, one in the basement, and one in my freezer. I've never changed the batteries and the app is still showing them at full power, so the battery life is excellent.

They were a great solution for me, since I was concerned about heat loss/gain through the attic, humidity in the basement, and the cooling ability of my very old fridge (1988 vintage). The Bluetooth signal is strong enough to receive with my phone basically anywhere in my house, though the fridge signal is weakest. The on-device datalogging also means that I don't lose any data when I'm away from home, even for up to a few weeks. Also, while the accuracy of the measurements is +/- 0.3C and +/- 3% RH, the resolution of these readings is much better -- 0.02F and about 0.04% RH. Since the readings are low noise, this means that you can see even very subtle trends, even if the absolute accuracy isn't that great.

The biggest weakness, predictably, seems to be related to the software. The app has last been updated over a year ago and has a grand total of three releases on iOS. So I'm not...
