Tired Changer: I had to get a new dehumidifier for the basement and I wasn't sure the readout was accurate. I bought this to have something to compare it to. Well, both the dehumidifier and this instrument took several days to eventually settle in and start recording the same readings. Not sure why it took several days, perhaps my basement was too damp for good readings initially, but they both work great now. Love the past day high and low (temp and humidity) feature.

Tony B: This combo thermometer and humidity meter works really well. It’s so sensitive to changes in humidity that if your hands are wet and you hold it it detects the changes in humidity. Comparing the temperature it reads with the weather service and other outdoor thermometers we have, it appears to be consistent and accurate. I can easily carry it room to room in our house and compare how the temperature and humidity vary in each. The humidity comfort range scale and record levels recording features are added bonuses if those are important to you, but I’d like this item even without those features.

Dan M.: I'm a guitar maker, so humidity control in my shop is critical. I've owned a half dozen inexpensive digital & two quite costly analog hygrometers over the last couple of decades.
None of them were worth the time or the money!
I bought this unit because it was recommended by another luthier I know. I purchased a 32% calibration kit on the same order.
I tested my expensive analog unit and the AcuRite 01080M together. The AcuRite was dead on, right out of the box. (If yours isn't, two buttons on the unit make adjusting the calibration easy). The analog unit read almost fifteen percent high, and I had calibrated it to 75% just a week previous.
I am relieved to finally find a unit that does what it is supposed to do!
I will buy another soon for a different room in the shop. Highly recommended.

WorldWideWebb: Happy with the first one, so bought another a few weeks later. When placed side by side they are *very* accurate to each other on both humidity and temperature, so seem well made. Whether they are accurate to the actual temperature is obviously much harder to ascertain, but it does give you a bit of confidence that they are better than the cheaper stuff.

Only downsides are that it would be better to have the temperature taking centre stage, more central and prominent. It's also fairly hard to read in low light conditions.

The HusbandThe Husband: Very accurate on the humidity reading, & also on temperature. (Tested against my dehumidifier & separate monitor)
The lcd figures react very quick to changes compared to my older monitor shown, & so more accurately depict real-time environment. Pretty impressed & the price was good 😌. I’ve been able to see the variations between rooms that we use & those that are not, & air them out as needed, getting rid of humidity & keeping other parts of the house warmer as a result.
I’m pretty chuffed with these little beasts. I’ll buy another for the hell of it as I like to know which parts of the house seem more affected by moister, with 2 little girls at home, it’s a good idea to make the house not only comfortable for them, but eliminate any humid/temp issues that is known to affect health/respiratory etc. I’m happy, even if I’m a bit of a nerd for it 😅. Everyone benefits in the end ✅

Suki: Cigar humidification needs to be very precise, and I have had difficulty getting something accurate. I needed a unit that I could calibrate. I have tried multiple units that claim to offer a calibration feature. Unfortunately, they were mostly useless, since the factory calibration was so poor that they could not be adjusted to be within range.

Even some of the specialist cigar hygrometers are useless. The only one I found to work was the Cigar Oasis Caliber unit, which is easily adjustable, and of course this one.

This unit is a third of the price of the Cigar Oasis, and so I've ordered another two, since I need to monitor several positions within two humidors.

It's larger than expected, but this isn't a bad thing. For calibration, you will struggle to fit it into the bag of the Boveda calibration kit. Better to get a larger zip bag and put in 2x 75% 8g packs. This is much more accurate and reliable than a salt test.

It also displays one decimal place. It is only adjustable 1% at a time, but it's useful to know the decimal place for calibration purposes.
