betty g.: This is a great stapler for my home office. It is STURDY, beautiful, and definitely does the job. HOWEVER, the head of the stapler (black part) hangs OVER the regular stapling mechanism, (silver part, almost 2", so that when you push the Head of the stapler DOWN to make the staple go through the paper, your hand is right there holding the papers, (of course), but that black staple head grabs your fingers every time because your hands need to be close enough to the metal stapling mechanism, in order to hold the papers, and OUCH...you really have to watch what you are doing because your fingers get scrunched in there every time. Hope this makes sense. I would make a video, but hard to hold my camera while using 2 hands to staple. I know that others have had this same problem, but just haven't mentioned it. I still love the stapler. I have 2 of them, the Swingline 70 Sheet Staplers with full sleeve of staples capabilities.

David Stern: Can handle a wide range of numbers of pages with perfect stapling each time. Stapling is effortless for smaller documents. Looks beautiful. I was so frustrated with the staplers in the copying room at work that I bought my own to handle larger documents.

Dave Smythe: My only issue is that it does not take the standard staples. it requires longer ones 3/8" needed, luckily it came with some.

Katie: I work in an office and I have to staple A LOT of paperwork. I have very thick packets that I have to staple and have tried so many staplers trying to find the right one that can handle 60 or 70 sheets without being too gigantic to fit on my desk. I have tried a few electric staplers. I was really excited about one but it kept jamming and was impossible to unjam because of the fact that it was electric. The manufacturer was nice to continually send new ones when this happened but eventually they stopped after four replacements and I gave up on the idea of an electric stapler. So I had to begin the search for yet another stapler and decided on a manual one this time.

This stapler is THE STAPLER to beat ALL STAPLERS. Words cannot describe how much I love this stapler! It really does staple 60 sheets with ease (I counted). I have used it for about a month now and it has not jammed once yet. It looks nice on my desk and is extremely easy to use. When you use it there is a nice "springy" feeling to it as you push down on the top and release. Joe2: Works very well. It doesn't make the staples rounded up - just flat, but I've felt numerous ones, and it doesn't scratch you at all. I think it does bend them up slightly into the paper, but they probably make the edges of the staples rounded (not sharp), so it helps not to get scratched. This is perhaps one of the reason that they want you to use Optima brand of staples - both has chisel point to staple in well, and probably the 'soft' edges as well.
But again, it does a solid job of stapling - the staple-ends are not loose at all, but set tightly against the paper - and all with an easy push down of the handle.
UPDATE: I wonder about the many people who are talking about jamming; I haven't had one jam. Perhaps they're not using the correct staples. There are different thicknesses; a staple for more sheets needs to be thicker (besides longer). They recommended their brand of staples (Optima). Perhaps that's the issue.
Also, I have found that sometimes, one leg of the staple is not totally against the paper, and since this stapler doesn't make the edges rounded - just bent up slightly towards the paper, you could perhaps get scratched. But most are against the paper well....

John A.: This is actually a nice, solid stapler (which is more than I can say about most other Swingline stapers)! Solid metal construction, the stapler has a nice weight and heft to it which makes it pleasant and easy to use, it easily and effortlessly staples through 50 sheets of paper. The loading/feed mechanism is not the best, seems like a possible failure point but considering the stapler's overall quality and very reasonable price I don't see this as a deal breaker. If the stapler had a slightly better load/feed mechanism it would be a solid 5 star. At the price this stapler sells you don't get much in large capacity staplers, this makes this stapler excellent value for the money. With a bit of care the stapler should last a long time in a small office or for light commercial duty. I recommend this stapler, you will be hard pressed to find a better stapler at this price.
