LBecka: This product is not helpful or useful. It is very hard to light if at all. I would not recommend this to anyone. Poor product

Jon C: It's tough to tell exactly what this is, but it is a small plastic container (reservoir) into which you can put lighter fluid, plus a long solid matchstick which at the bottom end has a small amount of steel and some wick material. The top of this matchstick is the silver screw top you can see in the picture that screws into the reservoir. The reservoir has a piece of flint in the black plastic trough on the right side of the picture. To use, you unscrew the top, and flick the steel tip of the "match" against the flint. This lights the wick, which is soaked in lighter fluid.

It's a permanent match.

Reservoir is a bit flimsy, but the idea is neat. Would work quite a bit without depleting the lighter fluid. Not sure how tough the wick is, and if you burn out the wick you're going to need a new matchstick. Still, might be good for a camping/hiking outing. I haven't made good use of mine yet, but will report back once I do.

Praetor: I don't like either regular zippo- or bic-style lighters, so I purchased this one because I like how you strike it like a match--more of a novelty. The housing is made out of black plastic with two thin metal overlays around it, so it is "rugged" enough for typical use, much like a regular bic lighter. It strikes well enough for the most part. It's not an instant-on strike every time, but neither are matches or even regular bic lighters. I would purchase it again for the right price.
