Hannah: It is a great little fire starter. Easy to use. Nice wood handles and leather sheath. The striker needed a place on the sheath, so I added my own paracord and attached it to the rod, tied through the holes in each. Made it long enough to still be able to strike. Comes with a carry cord too. Use it with the striker, sheath, or for something else. Nice packaging makes it a nice present to give.

Ronda Perez: This product is very well made and the leather seems of good quality. Especially for the price! Happy with my purchase. My only complaint is that there is no place to hold the striker piece. There’s a hole that you would think is able to fit in the rope, but it doesn’t. So it’s kinda of pointless that the maker even added the hole. Anyways, I made it work by removing one end of the rope caps, cutting the rope and wrapping tape around the end to make it skinny enough to put through the striker hole. Then I put the little cap piece back on the rope, burned the end of the rope a bit to make a melted plastic top so the cap doesn’t come off and it worked perfect. Now I can carry the striker right along with it and not worry about losing it. Took about 3 mins to complete.

IronBeard: The Fire Starter came well packaged - quality enough to use as a nice gift. It is well made - not cheap at all! The leather on the sheath is thick, and the Ferro Rod fits tightly in its slot. The Steel is also well made - both Ferro Rod and Steel have great wood handles. They not only look nice, but the fit my large hands and fingers well. These are not dinky items that are too small to use. It throws a large spark! Works very well! The necklace with the quick connect is a nice addition, too. Easy to put on and take off without removing your hat or choking yourself... and the quick connect snaps tightly and holds firm. The ONLY improvement - which I view as necessary and not optional - is a place on the sheath to safely and securely store the Steel! Why is there not a sleeve on the back side of the sheath for this?!?! Even for $2 more, it would make the whole thing packaged together for carry. My solution was to put thin paracord straps through the holes in the handle of the Steel and let it hang on the necklace. While this is functional, it is less than ideal. So close to greatness - but still very good!

Jason Breeden: I had seen this product on Facebook and the special offer given was to provide a $12 Amazon credit with order. I had already seen the brand on Amazon so thought, why not. It arrived quickly. The set is very nice. i love the leather neck sheath but just wish it also holstered the scraper. My solution; I added a paracord snake tie to the rod and scraper. I simply run the rod through the loop of my scraper lanyard when inserting into the holster and they hang perfectly side by side. Also of note, the toggle included in the necklace is a little larger than standard. I will be looking to order these for my bracelet builds from now on. Oh and as for that rebate, I got $12 off my next order as promised. Thumbs up.

Greg Baz: Nice quality product. It produces a very good spark. I have not started a fire with it yet but I don’t see any issues. I have owned similar products and this is right on par with all the other name brand ones I have had. The leather sheath is nice. The lanyard is nice as well. My only complaint is that there is no place to store the striker. I wish there was a place for it. I have given it some thought and I think this issue if fairly significant as such I can only give it 4 stars as this is a major oversight. If this is not a big deal for you or you don’t plan to use the leather sheath the. This is a 5 star product.
