Marbri: The media could not be loaded.  Good brakes for the price can be installed front or rear. Little bulky look but gets job done. Tightening instructions would have been helpful.

RLew: This brake set is a nice addition for kids bikes with coaster brakes. I added this as a rear brake addition to the coaster brake on a 16" wheel bike so my 5 year old can have a hand brake to practice with. It is a little big for a 5 year old though. She will have to grow into it as the lever is too big for her little hands. The other problem I have is that the lever is really just suited for the right hand side, which is typically the rear brake. To fit the lever on the left, the lever would need to be installed upside down, exposing the lever clamp and bolts. Hence, it would be best to get the lever for the left side separate if this bothers you. Also, lever installation will require the removal of the grip. Slide the grips off and use water/dish soap (not much needed) if friction is too tight. Other than my gripe with the lever, the cable, caliper, brake pads, and included hardware seem to be very good (includes lock nuts, bolt for front fork, bolt for rear, and plenty of cable). This brake system uses a center pin system, so be sure that your bike has the holes for this instead of the v-brake or cantilever mounts on each side of the fork or seat stays. greiber: I was looking for a cheap break and cable that I could add to my 5 year-olds bike and this fit the bill. The break pages are adjustable enough to fit her small wheels. The hand grip is a little bigger than I would have wanted it to be, but the adjustment screw (a small black screw at the base of the handle parallel to the cable) does let me bring the handle in a good amount when screwed tightly in. The cable was twice as long as I need (much better than half as long) but gave me a bit of a riddle trying to figure out how to cut it while still having the overhang of the inner cable you need to attach the cable to the actual break. If you have the correct diameter wire cutter, this won't be a problem for you, but I did not, so here is the best way I found to cut the cable after trying several bad ways:
1) figure out how long you need the cable to be and remember that the inner cable should be about 1 foot longer than the outer sleeve to give you the play you need to attach the handle and the break (you can easily trim the excess from the break end when you are done).
2) pull that 1 foot or so of extra internal cable out the top
3) Now you can cut clean through the cable...
