djmdjm: These racks seem well made and do the job. I use them to hold up a Thule Motion 16 cu ft car top cargo box. Due to the orientation of my ceiling joists, the bracket is attached to the ceiling in line with the length of the cargo box, and even though the lag bolts are tightened quite firmly, the box does drop down a bit on the unsupported side rather than being parallel to the ceiling and floor, as shown in the pics. It seems to still be fine, but looks a bit precarious. This would not happen if the brackets were oriented perpendicular to the load. I use the cargo box's roof rack clamps to hold the box in place on this rack, and that works well.

Andrea: Does as it describes. Drilled pilot holes first, then drilled the screws in. Solid, user friendly design. Use a pen or sharpie to dot when the screws go before drilling pilot holes, that way everything lines up easy.
