LizLiz: It works to keep my boats up off the ground safely, so yay! I put it together by myself while home alone with covid, so that should tell you how simple it was. I transported it outside in three pieces (both sides with the arms already installed, plus the back piece) and then just attached the crossbar outside to finish it off. Too cold to do it all outside. Is it the sturdiest, most well-built piece of equipment ever? No. But it was affordable and it does what I need it to do. The bottom boat is 17'8", the top boat is 16'9", so you can see the size of it.

Dennis F.Dennis F.: We needed a free-standing kayak rack to store our 12’ kayaks in our basement. This rack looked like an ideal design. It arrived well-packaged in a heavy duty cardboard box with straps. All of the metal components were wrapped in individual plastic sleeves. All of the nuts, bolts, washers, and plates were organized and sealed in a plastic tray. I was impressed at the care taken to ensure that all parts were included and in perfect condition. There were two 13mm wrenches provided as well.

The instructions were complete. I thought that the diagrams were a bit small, but I could determine the correct orientations and order of the components. Every metal component was labeled with “a”, “b”, … for easy reference. I put it together in less than 20 minutes.

The cushioned arms are very nice. I put the kayaks away easily, and the result is sturdy. I am happy with this purchase.

Kindle CustomerKindle Customer: Finally got to put together this stand for my kayaks. I thought the Instructions were clear and all parts were listed and described. I was able to put together by myself. Two wrenches came with it as well, no other tools were needed. My two kayaks are not the same and I was unsure that the larger would fit but they fit nicely.

One of the ties that sinched around the cushion where the kayaks sit came broken, I just used a zip tie and fixed it. One of the plates also came bent and I tried to get just the part replaced but was told one part was unable to be sent out. They offered to give a refund and send it back but with how heavy it is didn't want the hassle. I received partial refund and made the bent plate work.

I placed these right up against the house, we have a 4ft walkway and feel we have enough room to get the lawnmower pass.

Just glad to finally be able to store these the correct way and my husband is happy to get them out of his garage!

Cleo: Finally the nice weather is here and we opened the box with The Rack storage parts and hardware. Everything looked in good shape, we followed the easy instructions but came to an abrupt stop when 7 different welded nuts on(1 part "a", 2 each part "g" and 2 each of 2 parts of "d"); all nuts needed to be retapped as the bolts would not turn into the nuts after the first mm. Total assembly time including the retapping was 2 hours. Now that it is assembled we'll load the kayaks on it tomorrow.

Brian: Directions were a bit lacking but got through them with a couple of mistakes. I did have to swap a few bolts around. Everything lined up as it should. At first it appeared there were bolts but none were carriage bolts. I found 4 of these beneath another set of similar size in the packaging, hence the mix up. Two 13 mm wrenches are supplied but it takes much longer than if you have a 13 mm socket wrench. That speeds things up considerably. It does come with 6 brackets if you were wanting to secure the rack to an outside wood base, like a dock. I’m using mine inside and so didn’t need these. I don’t have to worry about weather, wind etc. Which could topple the racks. The padding is decent and it gets my yaks off of the temporary boxes I had them stored on, so I’m happy. These were also considerably less expensive than a competitors rack which may be more solidly built but more than twice the price.
