Stay Warm with Duraflame's 3D Infrared Electric Fireplace Stove and Convenient Remote Control - DFI-5010

Gwynnie B: I'm usually not too impressed by things anymore with such high prices and lack of quality control, but this little heater deserved a shout out because it works! I have a small room (150-200 square feet) off the garage where I do pottery and it's really a cold place to work. I checked out infrared heaters and the Duraflame had the best positive reviews.

I ordered one in cinnamon for over $200 and it was never sent after 2 weeks. I cancelled the order and noticed the heaters were on sale so I ordered another one for $149 in grey. Not really my color choice but I wanted heat, not a pretty color to keep me warm (the cinnamon color went up to $249). The heater arrived after a few days, we put it together, and Wow! instant heat. My little room was so toasty at the 82 degree setting that I had to turn it down.

Assembly was easy and the flame looks nice, but the main point is the infrared heater actually heats the room up. I'm a happy potter now with a warm room to hang out in! This is a great little heater for a good price.

Rebecca: Pleasantly surprised at how this heater warms up our living room. I had my doubts that this would heat up to 1000 ft - but, we left it on high for a few hours, and, definitely noticed some warming on the other end of our home. We are also able to cut the furnace back 3-4 degrees, although, we really haven't had a frigid night, yet, to really test the unit out. I wish the remote could actually adjust the temperature - that's why I gave those two categories only three stars. However, it does stay set at the last programmed temperature when you turn it back on. The heat output is nice, but, it does take about an hour to really feel the warmth all around the room. We also set the temperature to max of 82 degrees and had to turn it down after a few hours because it was just too warm for us! It doesn't seem to really dry the air like some blower-type heaters, however, we also do have a humidifier in the room because we have a forced-air furnace and that dries out the air considerably. Rose Buckley: We love our new heater and it really works fantastic. I was hesitant about buying, but when I read the reviews I was sold. The heater looks stylish and heats our 1000sq ft room nicely. We love how it has many functions and a remote we had no issues with the product at all. We are very happy we bought it. We have grandchildren, and we know that we can turn our backs, knowing that the unit does not get hot, but we never leave the kiddos in the room alone with the unit on.

cindy petercindy peter: I really like this heater. It heats my living room, kitchen and hallways. There's a lot of mixed reviews on here. I've had the heater for about a month. Our thermostat is on 68 but I feel cold sometimes at night so I turn it on for a few hours in the evening. It heats up the room to about 70 in about 45 minutes. Our living room is 20 by 16 feet and open to our kitchen and hallways. It's not too loud. I do take care and press the remote buttons slowly like the directions say. I haven't had any problems with anything so far, everything works like it's supposed to.

Annette Annette : Really impressed and happy with this small electric fireplace. Good quality and the flame is the best I have seen compared to other products. Heats well and quiet compared to others. I am happy I spent the extra dollars for this one as it doesn’t look cheap compared to others I have seen for less.

Colleen Lapello: Realistic flame, even my dogs watch it. The stove is very sturdy, and has glass sides that are really a great viewing feature. The infrared heat warms the room up very nicely, so the room stays warm longer, once the heating is turned off, and you just want flame for viewing. I find this type of heat is better than the regular electric I use to own. Beautiful beveled glass front door. Remote control is handy and temp setting is on the stove, but all can be turned on and off with remote. The flame has several settings for amount of flame you want to view. Great reviews on this stove, excellent delivery. Was worth the money to get through the long winter darkness!!

Maria: El mueble es bonito y la luz de la "fogata" se vé muy natural y bonita. El calor que emite es agradable pero no demasiado cálido, por lo que no creo que funcione en lugares extremadamente fríos. El calor se emite por un ventilador en la parte frontal superior del calentador. Pero no se calienta mucho la parte superior al tacto.
Los botones de encendido, temperatura y tipo de flama están detrás de la puerta y no están iluminados, por lo que se necesita luz ambiental o de una lámpara para poder verlos. El control remoto solo enciende y apaga o cambia la flama, pero no se puede ver a qué se está cambiando porque los signos están detrás de la puerta.
No hace mucho ruido, únicamente el sonido del ventilador.
Para un lugar cerrado de tamaño pequeño (unos 40-50 mts 2) funciona muy bien. Lo considero un producto excelente, mucho mejor que otros similares que he tenido.

Edición en 2018: Un año después sigue funcionando muy bien.
Lo que no puedo creer, ¡es el precio actual! ¿Cómo pudo haber aumentado 4 veces en un año?

Here's a little update. It's been about 5 months now since buying this heater. Our winter was terribly cold & being the first year without central heat the entire house was freezing. I used this heater in the bedroom where me and my 3 year old sleep. It kept us very warm at night even during the coldest of nights (lowest at night was 9 degrees F). What I want to add to my initial review is that using space heaters to zone heat will make your electric bill go up. My electric bill for the entire month it was freezing cold came out to be $280 when normally with central heat (both gas & electric) it would be under $200. I did run 4 space heaters (this one, a Lasko, and a radiator heater, plus one small 1500 watt utility heater) in 2 bedrooms, the living room & the washroom. We are still in some cold weather and I have learned to close off rooms that are not used, also put up curtains to close off rooms without a door (like the hallway that connects to the living room and the kitchen door that goes into the den) which helps to keep the warm air in that certain area without allowing in drafts.
