Susie: Recipes do indeed look easy and healthy. I wish there were photos to go with some of the recipes. Looking forward to making these part of my go to’s.

Sakura: I’m not a beginner cooking vegan food, it’s been awhile for me, however I liked that this book had the calories and seemed healthier than some of the other cookbooks. I haven’t tried the recipes yet, but I’m pretty good at following recipes and I think they will be good. The only problem I’m having and maybe I’m missing something, they didn’t add the serving size or amount on some of the recipes. For example, each pancake is 210 calories!? That’s my only complaint. But I’ll just have to plug in the numbers in my app and figure it out. Some of the recipes does have the serving amount though. Otherwise it seems pretty pretty good plus healthier options. Shall see..

Elizabeth III: I found the author's four can chili recipe a while back and then strayed off a plant-based diet. I really wanted to get back on the wagon and the four can chili had really helped me last time however, i couldn't remember where I found the recipe. I had completely forgotten I had purchased the kindle version of his book a year ago. I have not made any of the author's other recipes yet, but if they are half as easy and half as good as this chili, then the book is well worth it. And like others have noted, feel free to tweak the recipe. I used half ancho chili powder and half regular chili power, a vegan beef bullion cube and about 1/2 cup TVP (textured vegetable protein) to give it the texture and taste of ground beef. But on its own, it is still delicious. I highly recommend!!!

Scuba Bunny: Tante ricette utili. :D

Jessica: I appreciate the sentiment and there are some good ideas, but I was annoyed that the author repeatedly emphasises a "low fat" diet and replaces healthy fats with fluff in the recipes. Clearly not a health expert or nutritionist, so I'm not sure why they are giving nutritional advice. I am a health care practitioner. Please be aware; most vegans get around 50% or more of their calories from carbs, more than any other diet. Ideal is 30-40%. And just by virtue of eating vegan, you are consuming way less fat than the average American. The low fat idealization stems from an 80's "health" fad. It's been scientifically proven that your body needs fat in the diet! You SHOULD NOT be cutting out healthy fats! Olive oil, avocados, coconut milk, coconut oils, nuts, nut butters; these should be some of your best friends in a vegan diet. They help maintain blood sugar, boost metabolism and maintain hormonal balance (especially in women). Without fats, blood sugar rises too much and cells end up storing the excess glucose in cells as fat so eating low fat will not help you lose weight if you trying to do so. Maintaining balanced blood sugar will, however. Also, estrogen is made by adipose tissue...

Emily: Pros:
This book does not mess around. I see legit scientific citations and quotes appropriately documented in this book.
Pictures with vivid detail - smooth cover and backing; Easy to manipulate with one hand or two; Can fold easily as well if need be
The directions are easy to follow, good font size, pleasurable to read and easy to source ingredients from your local supply store (Sprouts, Target, whomever you buy from)
Not a lot is required of you except an open mind - Things worth going for require that
Tasty food omg : I can make oat milk! I can make plant based goat cheese! Sky's the limit here folks it feels like!

Cons:

Requires money to buy - As one would expect for a good (in this case, a good providing a useful skill to provide service no less) Still, I gotta budget and every bit counts. This can bite into the budget for some people and not for others.

Really, that is the only con. Not just having free access to this book for myself and everyone but for having to pay. I understand and respect the reality of the situation. Just saying!

I was not compensated for my review on this product. I like to give open, honest and transparent...

Patricia E. Parry: So happy to have this book in my hands at last! In my opinion, one of the the best plant based cookbooks out there especially for people new to this way of eating, but also for those who have been doing it for a while, but are feeling a glut of Just Too Much Information and Social Media Overwhelm! Paging through Gabriel's new book feels like having a wave of fresh, simple calm wash over me and I have a renewed sense of excitement.... of pressing the Reset Button and taking a deep breath with what is important ie) simple, easy nourishment. There is a beautiful clean SIMPLICITY in the valuable information presented and the oh-so-doable recipes that won't require a visit to your therapist :-) Thank you so much Gabriel for sharing both your kind and generous spirit and these absolutely lovely recipes! I have my eye on that Mango Ginger Chickpea Curry!
