Kindle Customer: This book combines so much of the things I love, A heroine's journey, mythology, love and accidental destiny. I loved it so much, I'm nervous to read the next one knowing it likely won't involve Ceris and Ris.

Sarah: My goodness, I never expected a book to sweep over me as this one has. I have read most of Charlie's books and loved each one, the stories, the characters, everything is sublime. But this book absolutely took my breath away. I cannot wait to start Starfather!

Elaine M:
It felt like a loss when this story ended. Ceris Wendon is fragile yet formidable, a true heroine. Her story is one worth reading. I highly recommend you do.
I have to say I love Charlie N. Holmberg's style of writing, it has the qualities of a simple fable and yet the gravitas of an epic adventure. Her stories are so immersive, the emotional resonance I have when reading them and the familiarity I have with each character makes me in awe of her storytelling capabilities.

A reader:
I had a profound experience this week while reading this book. I’d like to tell you about it if it might have value for you as well.
As background, let me tell you that I am a reader. You can see that from my profile name. Although the name is one Amazon gave me countless years ago, I identify with it. Reading has been the glue that has held my life together and given me wings as well as the courage to use them.
At some point in life, I came to enjoy listening to books read aloud. I have an Apple Watch in part so I can listen to books on Audible while doing ranch work outdoors and have been inspired in this way as well.
Star Mother is the fourth book written by Charlie N. Holmberg I’ve read this year. I’ve enjoyed them immensely as being both magical and grounded—matching the way I see life.
I’m not an Audible member but occasionally I buy a Kindle book and purchase the Audible version too. I can’t always tell at the time of purchase whether this will be a book I’ll read or one I’ll primarily listen to, so I’m giving myself both options, is how I think about it. This was one of those times. I purchased the Audible...

Kindle Customer: It's a beautiful thing to have read so much and yet find an author new to me, and to begin consuming her delicious works of words. This one is such a beautiful one. The words are divine. Mesmerising.

DakotaReads: This author never disappoints me. Ever. Charlie N. Holmberg has become my favourite author through her stories, each new work wonderfully 'other' and beautifully written. It was a delight to read Ceris' story.

Katie: *No Spoilers* I first came across Charlie N. Holmberg's books by reading the first in the Paper Magician series. I enjoyed the first, but was disappointed in the second. As her books continued, they all seemed to fall so short of the quality. Honestly, it just seemed like she was pumping out as many books as possible- with the stories kinda meh, the plot lines being pretty boring and terrible, and the characters flat. It was so strange to love the first book you read from a new author, and then really not like the rest. I kept giving her a second chance due to her first book, but then realized if you like one of five books, then it is time to stop. I have Kindle Unlimited and needed a new free book for the month. I came across Star Mother, but then noticed the author. I hesitated. However, it was free. Based upon that, I decided it was worth the risk, and would just stop a quarter in if I did not like it (I try to do at least 50 pages to give the author a fair shot). I am so glad I did! I really enjoyed the book. I loved the main character- a nice change up from past novels where I found her heroins often annoying (I know people argue that Ceony "grew" and became...

Rebecca Marie Egan: I found the story compelling but in a way as distant as the stars that were central to the story.
