D. Van Middlesworth: I hired a pro to help me with some Cat 6E wiring in my new house and he used this tool rather than his own "professional" version for several of the drops. The various ends give you options for both push and pull situations and it is flexible enough to work in fairly tight corners.

Daniel T.: Found rods are too flexible for horizontal runs. Rods severely dip making it hard to get an accurate horizontal run to desired location. Especially in a tight enclosed ceiling.

LED light didn’t work, assume batteries were dead.

It is probably better at vertical runs, but unable to test.

The Noodler ended up getting caught on something and was unable to free without fear of possibly breaking whatever it was caught on.

It did come with a bunch of other accessories, but unfortunately I never got to test them out.

Tech 8086: I needed a wire fish tool to run some cable under a manufactured home and this tool saved the day. The cable couldn't go through the roof because there's no crawl space above, and the homeowner didn't want cable just running around in the house so the wiring had to be done underneath. Some of the drops were on exterior walls, which are insulated, and it can be difficult to get wires through insulation on a good day. A lot of fishing tools are very long as they are meant for attic drops, but this one being in shorter segments gave me the lengths I needed to work in some pretty cramped quarters. The included white flex rod can be bent so I was able to rotate the noodler to locate a hole in a floor board within the wall that the yellow rods were flexing the wrong way to reach. For the drops that I was doing it was easier to fish the noodler down from above and screw in extra segments as I fed it, crawl under the structure, attach the cable puller, and then pull the cable up from above. I had tried pushing the noodler up from below at first but I couldn't find the rod in the insulation, so going top down worked better. The looped wire attachment is perfect for pulling cable. The...

Fordv8: 1. I lost 2 sections of the Noodle in my wall when the full 11' length came apart inside the wall. When you screw the sections together, finger tight is not good enough. I now tighten each joint with 2 pairs of pliers and then tape the joint with electrical tape.
2. It would be nice if the manufacturer included a short (18mm) male-to-male adaptor so you could connect the tools on either end of the rod. I made an adaptor by cutting a head off an M4-0.5 metric machine screw.
3. The tool ends are great - magnet, light, puller, chain, and cable grabber.
