Ca22: We love the price on this - good value. Looks and feels expensive. We bought it for my son who's about 60lbs. Others have sat on it as heavy as 180lbs and no problem. The storage compartment is handy for all his piano books.

C. Chan: This piano bench is decent for the price and is relatively easy to assemble. All you attach are the four legs, each of which has a washer, a locking clip and a nut. The bench comes with a thin crescent wrench which does the job, but would be easier with a proper wrench.

The end result is pleasing looking, but the surface material feels very artificial. The leg bolts protrude a bit into the storage area and probably could've been a little shorter to prevent this. The ends of the legs do have a little plastic protector piece so that it doesn't mar your floors. The bench is sturdy enough, and the nut/bolt attachment makes it possible to tighten if the bench loosens over time (hasn't happened yet).

This is a worthwhile product for pianos that see occasional use, probably wouldn't recommend for one that sees daily use. Good for an apartment and a good improvement over the cheaper scissor bench.

OP: This is actually a really nice quality item for it's price. I got this for my very narrow and small desk to use as a replacement computer chair. I chose this because it saves space by sliding under the desk and it also has a narrow but still generous enough space compartment under the seat. I put my tiny computer related items in there because my space saving desk has no drawer. I really like this item for an extra seat too for guests. It holds a decent amount of weight because I'm 200 and a male so it might even hold over that. The key thing is to still be gentle with the legs on carpet at least. No sliding it unless holding the legs or both sides of the top or scooting in to wherever you're sitting at. It's best to shift the bench by getting off of it first and manually moving it with your hands. That's just my advice as precaution though. It was so simple to assemble but a bit of a tight fit for the tool given for one corner of where a leg needs to be placed but it's doable and the point is all you have to put together on it are four legs. That's amazing and I was done in about 15 minutes only because of the balancing act of having to open the seat compartment to see inside...
