Kristina Ralston-Grimm: This is super cute and a way better alternative to those ridiculous e collars, but my little Houdini kept taking it off. Obviously you can’t pull the drawstring TOO tight on their little necks. Disclaimer: my cat is a ginger with one brain cell, so there is no chill in him. It may work for more chill cats or puppers.

Buyer416Buyer416: We got this for our kitten after her spay surgery since she absolutely hates her e-collar. She seems much more content with this cone and rarely tries to take it off. The shape also allows her to easily play with her toys and access food and water. I was previously having to take her e-collar off every time she needed to eat and then watch her to make sure she wasn't licking her incision which wasn't practical long-term. Unfortunately she does often dip the bottom of the cone in her water bowl while drinking but I just dry it off or swap back to her e-collar if it's really soaked. Our kitty is 6 months old and about 6 pounds, and the neck adjusts perfectly! We haven't had any issues with the cinching mechanism becoming looser and she hasn't been able to wriggle out of it so far. She's able to groom most of her body while wearing this cone, including her rear-end after using the bathroom which is great. My only concern is that if she bends around at just the right angle she is able to lick at her incision, so I still need to keep a close eye on her throughout the day and I've been putting the e-collar back on at night. However, this cone keeps her away from the surgery site for the...

Amazon CustomerAmazon Customer: My cat liked the soft cone way better than the hard one. She could eat, drink, sleep and get around way easier with this one. She's happy so I was happy.
One thing of note, you'll have to keep an eye on them they might still be able to get to their surgery site.

Desiree SDesiree S: Overall a good product. If you are using it to keep the cat from grooming themselves its not going to be a good investment. My cat had some teeth pulled and he hated the plastic cone. He wasn't drinking water and kept finding ways to take the cone off. I purchased this and he hasn't been able to escape from it. He is much more comfortable and is unable to scratch at his face. He has been able to groom himself with this on - which I have been trying to avoid but for the most part it is a much better alternative to the dreaded cone. He is able to drink water and use the litter box much more comfortably than before.

Princess Kitten: Our cat recently had to have both of his eyes removed (enucleation) due to glaucoma. He couldn't tolerate the traditional cone at all, so we needed alternatives. This was the second best option for us.
During the first couple of weeks there's a big risk of them pulling their stitches out, so he couldn't be left on his own for longer than a few minutes. Getting this collar on was a breeze, and he found it comfortable enough to sleep in. He didn't really seem to notice it was even there once it was on.
Where it didn't work for us was taking it off. He also has itchy ears at the moment (due to start treatment as soon as his eyes have healed), and most of the time they're fine, but if you aggravate them then it starts the itching. This happened in a big way when we tried to remove this collar, because due to the shape of cats' heads it's a tighter fit coming off than it is going on.
He wasn't able to kick at his ears whilst wearing it though, and he couldn't get at his eyes either. If his ears had been in a better state then I think this one might have been our winner, but if your cat has itchy ears then I'd recommend the velcro cone one made by the same...

David G: We have a small (<3kg) and tenacious cat. After quite a serious operation she easily removed the provided cone, the alternative sizes provided, and struggled so much against DIY paper-plate / sticky tape fall-back so we were worried about the hard edge. So this was a God send. Soft and light, and with a drawstring so it fits securely without a hard edge. It was also easier for her to eat/drink than a conical one. Cat wore it for a month (eventually) without fuss.
It was great for us, but there are two caveats:
- We had to tie a knot in the drawstring, because it will give under the pressure from a tenacious cat that figured out forcing the collar through small gaps would loosen it.
- Because it's soft and flat, rather than hard and conical, not all stitches/wounds are out of reach. So I would recommend watching for a few hours to make sure your cat cannot reach the injury site.

Totalmente recomendado!!

Cathy VoelkerCathy Voelker: I found out from my neighbours that my cat had killed a bird. She was a city outdoor cat when I got her a few months ago. Not wanting to keep her locked up & she discovered how the doggy door works, I researched which colours would alert most birds. Red & yellow are more noticeable rather than dull browns, greens or blue which make them feel safer. It took her a few days to get used to it. I put her harness buckle through the adjuster loop so if it does come off it doesn’t get lost in the woods. She hasn’t caught a bird since. My neighbour saw her chase a bunny last week too but she couldn’t catch it. Everyone thinks it's hilarious but they know whose kitty it is! She loved people & will still come up for pats & snuggles. She now uses it for a pillow for her outdoor naps. When she comes in, it comes off & the doggy door changes to "in only".
Update: my idiot neighbours thought I was abusing my cat. One fellow was seen taking it off of her but I got it back. Within a week her harness and the collar had been removed and thrown away. Someone found the harness but I never got the 'watermelon' back. It worked fine until 'know-it-alls' butted in. Even my vet...

MS: Does exactly what it says. Doesn't obstruct peripheral vision and nor does it get in the way of eating and drinking. The cat is unable to rip the scab off of his toe which he kept doing. But, I noticed he was laying in different ways that he doesn't usually lay. I got a little concerned about the change of behavior, until I noticed he was using it as a pillow and enjoying putting his head on it anywhere he wanted to. I'd give my rating more stars if it were possible!! If I would have put a cone on him, there would have been trouble to pay. This collar does the same thing and he enjoys the item lol :) - which really makes me happy.
