Amazon Customer: I have a full size, Dodge Ram 1500 truck. I used 1 strap to secure 3 milk crates up against the truck cab. Hooked one strap end hook into the built in metal loop in corner of the bed, threaded the strap through 3 milk crate handles, then hooked into the other metal loop in opposite corner of the bed. This fits perfectly with maybe 4" of extra strap. If I ever do this over again I will buy a longer strap for the ease of extra slack. But this works fine, just no extra slack really. The milk crates provide storage for the small items you don't want tossed around the truck bed when driving. Even grocery bags for short rides home.

Amazon Customer: I bought these to hang items from my garage ceiling. They work fine for that purpose and are just what I needed. I have a couple of quibbles that make this a 4 and not a 5 star.
First, the strap has to go around the back of the buckle and through the gripper to hold. This is as expected. But the part of the buckle that the strap rubs over is not smoothed very well. For my use that is ok, I won't get much wear on the strap. But for repeated use, that edge should be rounded. If I had a different use, I would take a file to it.
Second, it is a fiddle to get the strap to go through the clasp. There is simply no way to your fingers around to push it in the correct direction. The simple solution might be to angle cut the strap end to more easily poke through. Or some other way to be able to access the inside.
Even with those quibbles, good value and I would buy again for my particular purpose.

Chevan: These straps are high quality and easy to use. Excellent value for the price. Getting the belts threaded into the buckle is a bit tricky but no need to remove them after doing it first time.

Harry C. Bryant IV: I used these to secure my kayak to the roof of my 03 4 door Chevy Blazer and they worked great! I was a little skeptical because I was using ratcheting tow straps and those LOCK a kayak to the roof. However I read that you risk damaging the kayak by squeezing it too much with ratchet straps. With these cam straps, the kayak isn't as tightly secured but it's secured more than well enough. I strapped my Ascend FS10 10 foot recreational kayak to my roof and drove 4 hours with it, averaging 60 mph to 70 mph on the highway.

I used these in conjunction with these J-bars. The smartstraps cam straps are a far superior strap than the straps that come with these J-bars. The strap webbing is wider and thicker. The camlock is larger. I used one strap for every j-bar meaning if you buy this product and the SmartStrap cam straps then you'll be able to carry 2 kayaks at once on your roof:

I'm sure there are plenty of other good uses for these straps but if you were like me and in the market for a nice set of cam straps for your kayak, these are a low-cost solution!
