Came in a plastic bag with a small bag with wire caps and two screws. No instruction but simple enough to install. Waited for it to power up. It did programed it and shut the cover door. Thats when problem started. It reset itself. I repeated the steps several times and it kept doing the same thing. Bad unit I’m guessing and now think someone returned it and they just repacked and I ended up with it. Will be returning it.

SASA: This was a replacement for an OLD Woods timer for a ceiling fan. Installation was easy since the wiring was all in place. The design is much more compact than the old one and it mounts behind the wall plate rather than through it There is a manual on/off button that glows red when it's on. It has a clock that you set for the desired on and off times either on selected days of the week, daily, weekends, or any combination of those. If used for lights there is also a randomize mode that varies the on and off times slightly for a lived-in look when you're away. The bulky old timer only counted down to turn off the fan. Included with the new one is a single wall plate. I needed to order a double because of a light switch but if yours is/will be a standalone you're all set,

Michael:
I'm not actually a pro, but they're good tips! :)
My wall box had three wires only; 2 black and one green. Turns out the light switch to the right had a red wire going in the top of the light switch and black going in the bottom, so I assumed the same pattern for the light switch I was replacing for my porch light.
1. You actually have to slide the switch to ON to work. I have not seen a timer switch with one of those before and due to close proximity to a 'Man' button, I assumed it meant 'On for Manual.' Not correct. Turn it on.
2. You have to wait ~ 30 seconds for it to power up! The first time, I saw nothing, assumed I had the wires wrong, and flipped the breaker off before READING there was a time requirement for the unit to boot-up.
3. If you're setting on/off days and time individually, don't forget you MUST set the OFF >> DAY << and time as well. I later realized how to set all days, for the entire week, at once and it was easier. Instructions for that are below.
4. When setting they DAY for on & off time, just keep pressing the day button and it cycles through each weekday, then you'll see all weekdays...

Lt: Easy to program and it works very well

Peter Castaldi: The Woods In-Wall 7-day digital timer (no neutral wire required in electrical box) is a quick install, an "easy" programming task, a good performer. Important: this timer is the only one I could find in years of searching which does not require a neutral wire or a replaceable battery. The one I found with replaceable battery was a bear to program and I never got it to work. This is a great product, but it does require a ground wire. Anecdote: I installed this quickly and switched load (wire to lamp being controlled) and line (hot wire) so it failed in an easily identifiable way. I reversed the install, checked wires with a sensor, and reinstalled properly. Everything worked fine EXCEPT the light would never go on. I tried everything and only in desperation checked the two LED bulbs in the fixtured being controlled. BOTH were blown (a peculiarity of LED electronic bulbs - something I did killed the bulbs). Two new bulbs and everything worked fine.

Amazon Customer: Excelente Timer. Te deja programar fácilmente encendidos y apagados de lo que tengas conectado al circuito en el que vaya. Si se va la luz no se desprograma, pues tiene una batería que guarda la programación hasta por 30 días! Totalmente recomendable 👌🏻

Israel: The first one I buy was defective, but Amazon sent me a other one really quickly (one star lost for this). The reason I remove a star, it's because the RESET button. When you are using it, you must be really care full because it stuck easily in the case, and you have to disassemble it to get it back on the right position. But the programming is easy also the installation.

M. Singri:
This heavy duty times is a real blessing for us. We had to travel and leaving home without lights would be inviting trouble. I had bought a similar timer from hardware store - one for the price I paid here for 2 switches !!. Additionally the item from store was not of right color either. They had only white.
Timer is real easy to install and fits in the same face plate for the wider type of switched we had. Programming the timer is real easy. Provides 2 modes for operation. Automatic, Random and Manual. Random mode randomizes on off times to make it look like it is being turned on by someone but not a programmed switch. Multiple on off times per day and programmable for all 7 days or same program can be used for all 7 days.
Have had switch for about a month. It has worked flawlessly and very convenient. Only change I would like is, that the indicator lights be green instead of red.
One word of caution: Know your wattage requirements on the place where the timer is being used. Easy, just add the wattage rating of all the lights or anything you are trying to control to ensure the timer rating is adequately matched.
My wattage for...

Pierre Boucher: Works as expected. Easy to connect. Can use LED bulbs . The switch I had before was asking a minimum of 40 watts lightbulb to work.
