mani: The unit itself seems to be good quality. The biggest issue was length of time it took to install and the very thin cheap wiring coming from wall console with no connective hardware to the ceiling unit and you just have to push the thin wire and there is nothing holding in in place so there is no way to make sure that the connection between the wall console and the machine is solid. Another issue was that the chain was extremely hard to fit and it seemed an inch or so short, and even with lots of pulling the ends would not meet one another during the fitting making it necessary to add a link in between.

Rico: I d buy again but more hp
I bought the 1/2 hp it’s quiet, very quiet.
I think I should of bought a bigger 1hp unit for my16’ wooden panel garage door.
But works, only problems is thunderstorms can effect the limits. So I have to set limits now 2 separate times.

Mandy M: Make sure you watch all the installation videos. Makes the process so simple.
Installed 1 month ago and love it. We have had 0 issues.
Pros- extremely quiet. I mean EXTREMELY. Which is great since our kiddos bedroom is directly over the garage.
Remote works from a good distance away
Raises and lowers with no struggle. We have a large metal insulated double garage door.
Cons- the guide rail isn’t solid. It’s pieces hooked together. I could see this wearing out eventually, but time will tell

Will update if it breaks or we experience issues. No update means it’s still working like charm.

Old Frog: The SkyLink garage door opener was fairly easy to install. I used the videos that were suggested, to do the installation. The videos weren't exactly matching the model that I bought but still worked well. I had to install some wood blocks to mount the safety photo-eyes on, as the tracks of my garage door were too large to clip the Photo-eye brackets on as shown in the instructions. I also found it a bit unclear on connecting the control wiring as the video gave the wrong colors of the wires and wasn't clear enough that the plastic cover should be in place before the connection and setup is done.

I was very impressed on how smoothly and quietly the opener, with the DC motor, worked. The opener handled my 16 foot wide door with no problems even though it is physically much smaller than my old opener that was removed from service.

This opener was the most economical, for the size I needed, that I could find on Amazon; and also it didn't have the WIFI connection and control that I did NOT want or need.

The remotes are easy to set up and have very good operating range. This opener works GREAT and will save you several dollars on the purchase price.

Bruce W. Bowen: I've had this product for over a year now and overall it has served me well, and still works fine.

The good.

1. Quiet
2. Door movement doesn't start with a jerk
3. Not too difficult to install.

The bad.

1. The controller for the external wall push button switch is sensitive to switch bounce. Don't know about their supplied switch as I used the one already installed in the wall. A single push often registers as two pushes, causing the opener not to respond. Trivial bug that could easily be fixed with a software or hardware debounce circuit in the controller. Very annoying!

2. Wireless remote is proprietary. This issue can be circumvented by buying aftermarket external wireless receivers, such as MegaCode, that connect to the wall push button connections, then you can use your stock of legacy wireless remotes.

3. Mechanical interference issue. The multi-section chain bar is not rigid enough. It tended to bow outward slightly when chain was tensioned. When opening the door this caused the traveler to snag against the front of the chain where it connects to the cable, as they passed each other, causing the door to reverse. This issue was...

Velvet: The machine itself is the smallest lifter I have ever seen: it is at least 30% smaller than the conventional ones we are in the habit of using and seeing around. It also does a great job at lifting and closing a metal garage door. The only little gripe we are having with this device is it’s programming: when you want to program this machine, you need to note that it is in programming mode when the green programming light is off! This is really counterintuitive, I expected it to rather light up when ready for programming. So we did it wrong on the first round, and when we noticed that it did not perform as expected, we thought it over and tried the other way around and, Eureka, it did work then.
It is a really good value for the money, and I would buy another one of these, if any of my present garage door openers happens to fail.
