Anonymous: I kept seeing this book and loved the idea of the recipes being set up for dinner parties and larger groups. I’ve made a few recipes and some get the thumbs up. Aphrodite’s chicken is simple but very good. Some of the pasta dishes have also been pretty good. However I made the rosemary and chestnut cake following the instructions for using unsweetened chestnut purée and despite us being a house of dessert lovers and my husband eating anything that is put in front of him my god it was the most revolting thing we’d ever eaten. Couldn’t stomach even one mouthful to the point where we couldn’t believe someone had actually tested this recipe and put it in a book. The entire cake was thrown in the bin immediately and thankfully we didn’t make it for a dinner party.

I have attached some photos, that are examples from the book. They look really appetising. I would thoroughly recommend this book to anyone.

Gonzalo Budelli: Already planning my next dinner for friends. Such a beautiful book! , it really invites you to enjoy cooking for you dearest ones, and for yourself of course! I am an obsessive buyer of cookbooks and this one certainly will be on my top list. For those that complain about the metrics, come on! it is not so difficult to make conversions nowadays, right? Make google your friend, or just download an app.

Liza: I got this book on pre-order before it was released to the US and I'm in total love with this book! I realize other posts complain about metric measurements, but a simple way to solve this is buy a gram scale to avoid conversations. Most measuring cups have millimeters too.

I love the introduction to the cookbook as it is well written. Let's face it cooking for a group of people can be daunting but love how Skye makes cooking both practical and tasty. The pictures are also gorgeous!!

C: This book is gorgeously photographed with recipes that make me want to jump into the kitchen, seeming both approachable and delicious. What’s more, Skye recommends entire dinner party menus based on each and every recipe! So the next time I want to cook a fancy date night meal (or a post-pandemic dinner party) all I have to do is pick one recipe that’s calling my name and she will have handled the rest of the planning! For someone as indecisive as I am that’s the thing that tips me from browsing a cookbook overwhelmed by all the things to actually cooking from it.

What’s more, I may to be the only reader in America with access to a $5 kitchen scale (bought here on Amazon!), liquid measuring cups that include milliliters (just opposite the cups!), and a grocery store that offers both scales and food packaging that provide metric measurements alongside American measurements, so I will be the one lucky woman in America able to cook from this book!

In all seriousness, it certainly would’ve been nifty if Skye’s publisher did those conversions for us, but it’s truly not as onerous as it seems to convert in your own kitchen. What’s more, the cooking style is...

city gal: Gorgeous photos & appealing recipes but why is there not a U.S. edition with imperial measurements? Lovely to read but I was so looking forward to baking from this book & it’ll mean doing a LOT of conversions. With the later U.S. release date, I anticipated an actual U.S. edition.
