SKS Multi-Valve Head Tire Valve Connector: Secure and Easy Installation for All Tire Valves

Randy S: I bought this for repair of my aged Joe Blow Sport pump that was coming up on 15 years. I use both the Schrader and Presta ports depending on bicycle. The Presta side of this replacement valve had very little use and is now no longer functional. It appears that some of the insides have slipped out of the Presta valve port.

J. H.J. H.: The old end on my pump always required effort - a little bit of fiddling and a lot of turning - to get it to fit on most tires. This new end solves all of that with a quick release that's also super solid.

All you need to do is cut your old hose off, slip the orange collar over your hose, then press the new end onto the hose, and tighten the orange collar.

JV: Wasn't sure when I ordered this if it would adapt to my old Specialized floor pump. Sure enough, the inside diameter of the hose was smaller than the bib on the new head. I was able to ream the hose out with a .225" drill bit held with a small vice grips. Achieved an airtight connection after this, and it works well. Would have rated it five stars, but it was just installed. We'll see over time how it performs.

M. Dennis: This is to validate other “five star” comments about the SKS Multi Valve Head connector. I successfully refurbished a Specialized Air Force bicycle pump dating back to 2000–works like new with this new valve head.
PROS: works better than expected, installation is easier than expected, valve lever “locks down” rather than up, which is ergonomically more comfortable to use, especially when a valve stem is difficult to reach. Twin valve receptacles for Schraeder and Presta valves on the same valve face is better than “hammerhead” valve heads that make the lever more difficult to position when the head must be “flipped” to match the valve.
CONS: None experienced so far: since this valve head design is easy to install and use, breakage due to user error or excessive force seems less likely to shorten the life of this “all plastic” valve head with normal use.
