JMU: This was a replacement for an old rusted chimney cap and spark arrestor. I had a local sheet metal shop fabricate the chimney chase cover along with a reducer. Will be ordering another one for one of my other rental properties.

Alica Leppanen: Initially I liked the product. I put it on, and surprisingly it withstood very high winds. Problem is that the wire mesh around the cap traps creosote. I've had to go up on the roof three times, in three months to clean it out with a wire brush, otherwise my stove was smoking horribly. Usually I clean the chimney once every year or two.

CN in the SunCN in the Sun: Fit my 14” pipe fireplace. Best to drill pilot holes as the base flexes, but easy to screw on (for those of us in hurricane or tornado areas - the last one blew off so I heard from the previous owner). Very nice looking, have had 4 fires in the fireplace so far and so far so good.
