Stevie: My son has autism and struggles with some fine motor skills. We are still working on tying shoes and other things. These are very helpful until we master those skills. Plus I buy bigger clothes for him to grow into.

Mary Carson: I found these toggles to be offensive to handmade clothing. The plastic is quality unknown I've never seen anything is awful in my 55 years of sewing. All I wanted was a piece of wooden material with a spring in it that works as a toggle to hold a waistline in place similar to a shoelace but these won't even hold a thin string.

Cherie: There is a big-brand athletic store that makes some clothing with a solid drawstring in the waist of pants. This is hard-to-describe. Instead of separate pieces that meet in front to be tied, it’s one continuous piece of elastic that has no method of being secured. You can pull it tighter but it doesn’t tie. How do they expect you to actually use this? I can’t understand it, but most of their stuff has no adjustability in the waist at all, so I was trying to work with it. I use a safety pin to grab the elastic and pull it through this toggle. Once the toggle is on the elastic, it’s quite easy to adjust and secure the elastic so that pants don’t droop in crotch or slide down while on, and then I can easily loosen toggle to slide pants down over my hips - just need to be careful to not pull the toggle all the way off when loosening. This makes an otherwise great-fitting pair of pants actually fit me great all over and be functional. That’s like a needle in a haystack when you aren’t exactly whatever the fit model is. So this worked great for my needs.
