P & J: I smelled a leak and was not able to detect it in the traditional ways. This did detect the leaky fitting, but you must be patient and keep the sensor at the suspected leak for quite a while (30 sec) to accurately work. I would buy this again.

Peter pink: I wouldnt advise buying this. I returned it immediately after opening. The O2 sensor was showing 19% outside and alarmed straight away. The build quality is like a childs toy, one drop and it would break. It has a womans voice on the meter when it starts and when it alarms she speaks, this cant be turned off. The alarm sound cant be turned off. The plug is a 2pin so it doesnt work in the UK.

Amazon Customer: My wife complained about a gas smell in one of our drawers below the hob.. I couldn't smell it, but this bad boy confirmed and we got an engineer out to fix.

After a few weeks same issue and again it detected the leak, engineer came back and now it seems to be fixed for good.

I always thought I had a good sense of smell, but obviously not as good as I thought.

Elena: So one very late night about a month ago we had a skunk stink up our basement and it happened on the same day that we had a new natural gas heating system put in. Obviously we know the difference between skunk smell and gas smell, but we kind of freaked ourselves out into thinking it might be gas and had the gas company come out at 1am to tell us that its just skunk... Anyway, I ordered this device right after that incident so that we can avoid all the crazy in the future.

This little guy took a minute to figure out how to use cause husband refuses to read instructions. We figured out that it takes a few seconds to "heat up" and then starts working. The device seems to be functioning properly and definitely does not feel cheap or flimsy. Overall, even though it's not something you'd use often, I think this is a great thing to have around the house if you have any kind of gas installed. Better safe than sorry.
