Navid: I bought this product as we have a sewage ejector pump and that area would occasionally smell like gas. I used this gas detector to find the location of the leak (a few screws that are on the top) and out silicone on it to fix the problem. I had spent a ton of money on plumbers to come and tell me everything looks good but not until I used this tool was I able to diagnose and fix the problem myself!! I can’t be happier with the product. Btw…Make sure you move slowly and spend 10 seconds on each location.

the unit i recieved is very precise locating the leak to the exact spot.
it was helpful to find the leak, helpful to show the plumber where the leak was, and after the plumber attempted to fix the area it showed the leak was still present saving the plumber a return trip and everyone involved some time and trouble.
something was wrong with the shut off valve, after replacing it the leak stopped, not once were any bubbles present with soapy water, only this tester located the leak
you could move to sensor a few inches away from the spot and the reading would drop
i ws suprized how well this worked
one thing to mention is the instructions say
"DO NOT CHARGE WITH UNIT POWERED ON"
"DO NOT TURN ON UNIT WITH CHARGER ATTACHED"

Yo' Vinny: The unit is finicky in terms of the button and menu options. I was troubled getting it to respond. The buttons are it are definitely sub-par creating challenges selecting them with certainty. Overall build quality is enough for the home owner occasional leak test, but not otherwise.
Mine worked pretty well for 5 minutes and then after that a constant zero PPM on the measures. After various menu reset settings, the unit did not work after that. I think a simple bend of the gooseneck might have loosened some wires between the sensor and the circuit board. Speaks to the lower quality of the unit.
Oh well...back to Amazon. I have not decided if I am going to purchase a replacement and try again. Probably not. Quality and reliability comes first in tools and when dealing with a potential danger around gas leaks, I don't want to deal with this level of uncertainty.

Je n'ai pas pu voir de résultat probant car l'achat a été effectué en prévention pour le chauffage au gaz de notre entrepôt.

This came recommended to me and I’m here, 5 years later… and it’s been in my Tool bag this whole time, getting the crap kicked out of it daily… and the damn thing still fires up in the Most annoying way ( sirens and bells going haywire! ) but, it damn Sure finds gas leaks, after it calms Down and I crack a joke about how we all need to run, like right now! as it’s going bonkers right when I turn it on!

Anyhow… it’s a good unit, a bit ugly and larger than I would like… but hey… it works!
Good luck… oh.. almost forgot.. the only real issue I had with it was The cap that protects the sensor came up missing one day and I have no clue where it came Off! So if that Happens to you, DON’T leave the sensor exposed! I got a bit of stainless mesh and fashioned a big old ugly thing… I’m sure you can do better.. but that’s...
