Steve: Saw various reviews so was nervous about this given the price. However the bike rack was very solid/sturdy and secure when attached using the 5 straps (I did get and use scratch protector pads). Used with two bikes one heavy e-bike and one kids bike without any issue.

Djessy: Utiliser lors de plusieurs déplacements lors de ces vacances d'été, il a été très robuste et simple d'utilisation une fois la prise en main acquise. On a parcouru une distance supérieur à 500km, avec une Peugeot 208, et il a bien tenus les 2 VTT sans problème, par précaution nous avons effectuer des arrêts pour vérifier les sangles, toutes les 2 heures afin de resserer les sangles au besoin.

Conseils :
- Acheter des sangles supplémentaires, pour renforcer la fixation sur le coffre.
- Si vous possédez un vélo féminin acheter la barre adaptatrice "Allen" pour optimiser le placement de vos 2 vélos.

Je recommande ce produit si vous avez besoin d'un système hayon simple d'utilisation et qui fait le travail qu'on lui demande.

William Quinn: This is a fabulous product. Inexpensive, easy on the car, secure and easy on bicycles, reasonably easy to rig up. If you have very expensive bicycles you may want to consider roof racks; otherwise this gizmo is unbeatable.

Honest Reviewer: I bought this bike rack for my 2013 Honda CRV (LX). I had gone to the Allen Sports website to verify that it would fit and it seemed like a great value and something that would work perfectly for me. I debated whether to purchase a one or two bike rack as I am the only one that rides, but I ended up opting for the two bike rack hopipng that my spouse would (at some point) become interested in riding as well. I will try to give some tips that will hopefully help you decide if this is a good fit for you, and also some tips on how to best use it:

1. Check the Allen Sports website to see if it will fit your particular vehicle. DO NOT take it at face value when reviewers on here say it DOES or DOES NOT fit a certain vehicle. They may not know how to install it, or they may be installing it incorrectly (i.e. unsafely) in order to ‘make’ it work.
2. The instructions for mounting the rack are fairly good but you really have to read them closely - ESPECIALLY when it comes to the bottom hook. The top and side hooks are fairly logical and self-explanatory… although make sure you use the correct hooks for top and side. The top hooks are bigger/wider...

Lo monté en una Hyundai Tucson, con puerta hatchback para llevar una bicicleta. Siguiendo las instrucciones y con un poco de sentido común se pudo montar a la primera y sin mayor complicación. Lo usé en un viaje por carretera de 300+ km, a velocidades arriba de los 130km/h, en muchos tramos con lluvia fuerte, y se comportó tal como lo esperaba. En el viaje de regreso ya prácticamente lo sentía como parte del auto.

Si bien, llevé solo 1 bicicleta mediana, me parece suficientemente solido para llevar una segunda bicicleta fijándolas bien.

Me dio muchísima confianza.

Recomiendo fijar muy bien y colocar muy bien el rack antes de salir. Fijar y asegurar con nudos adicionales cada tensor de manera correcta como lo indica el manual.

Adicional, recomiendo tener cintas adicionales (no incluidas) para poder amarrar y fijar muy bien la bicicleta al rack y que nada se mueva. Fijando el manubrio y llanta delantera, llanta trasera y pedales. Esto es muy importante para tener la mejor experiencia.

Lo recomendaría absolutamente.

Harry: I can get 2 adult bikes on the rack easy enough, after figuring out how to take it on and off.

The instructions are not easy to follow, and since I know everyone complains that cheap car bike racks suck, I wanted to make sure I put them on right. I drive a 2007 Toyota Camry, and it indeed works well on it. I have to install it with the "alternative" instructions, which involve not using my bumper (as it is just a boat load of plastic around the actual metal bumper underneath) and I secured it to the bottom of my trunk. It feels secure enough, used it about 10 times now, a few times with 1 bike, some with 2 bikes. I feel with multiple bikes it feels a bit more stable if that makes sense to anyone.

Also just be careful with how to secure the straps. Just play with them until they feel secure.

The metal bits that secure to the trunk are nice enough, but they are just painted metal, my car has some fairly soft paint (as most Japanese cars do) so I decided to put some electrical tape around the hooks. I also drive an old beat up car, but you never want to actually chip off paint, which the hooks will do if your not careful, or you tighten it a bit...

Mike: This cannot be left on your car for two reasons:
1) It will block your license plate.
2) It cannot be secured to the car. Anyone with a sharp knife can take the unit in seconds.
Its a basic cradle for carrying your bike for a day trip.

Recommend placing 3M Clear Bra Paint Protector Tape on your trunk lid, and any where else there's contact, to protect against friction to paint as this unit does sit on your trunk lid. Look for 3M protector at window tinting places. You may get lucky and obtain a few left over piece(s) for free. Or procure at Amazon in 6" by 25" rolls. 3M protector is very tough but easy to remove with a hand blow dryer to restore your car back to original state.

If you're looking for something locking and more secure I'm afraid you will need to spend more money. This unit It is designed for two bikes but make sure they are light weight. It carries one bike well but two bikes may stress out your car metal even thou the rack is designed for two. You will need to procure additional nylon ties for securing the bike to the rack tightly. electonics hobbyistelectonics hobbyist: This cartier is not a high tech design and uses inexpensive parts. This makes it an excellent value for its purpose as an almost universal fit bike carrier.
Assembly is easy except for the two spring arms that need to be inserted to lock the carrier into its shape. The weight of the carrier is fairly light so you can easily carry it and attach it to your car trunk.
It fit my 20 year old classic sports car no problem as you can see in picture.
I took several precautions so not to scratch my paint. The carrier uses painted metal clips as attachment to lips of the trunk or door lip. My wife sewed little felt pockets to cocer those clips. I also used a felt cloth under the foam rubber that covers one of the bars to keep it from rubbing the paint from road vibration justvad a precaution to protect the origional paint.
Two sttaps hold the bike in posiz bx the top bar. This works perfectly for classic style bikes where the bar is horizontal. Two straps lock it into place.
