Very heavy grade steel and high quality. The fold down feature is nice and the bikes were very secure on this rack. The frame of the car/truck would have to break apart before this rack failed. Best bang for the buck!

When the rack came in, I did not expect it to be so heavy! The instructions were very easy to follow for assembly! Once mounted on my Subaru outback, it was very easy to tilt to open gate, and the rack is very solid, no rattling! I would definitely recommend this bike rack and would purchase again!

I bought mine in March and the rubber straps are already starting to break. Thought it would have a longer life span. It does the job but I’m starting to worry a bike it going to fall off of a strap breaks.

This does not stabilize the wheels on your bikes, so they will move around and bump into each other. The rubber mounts slide around as well, inceasing the chances that hard gears will grind against another bike’s frame. The rack itself wobvles around quite a bit from all the play from loose tolerances. I regret purchasing this, and the damage to my bikes was quick and difficult to prevent. Spend a bit more, and buy something that will protect your bikes instead of damage them. You might be able to cram 4 bikes on this rack, but any more than just one bike, and without modifying this rack, the bikes will rub hard and damage each other.

I like the idea of using a screw to secure the rack to the hatch receiver instead of just a pin, which makes it really stable and no wobbles at all. No quick release button to tilt or lock the rack in place (everything is done through pins), which does not bother us at all. If you feel that the holes are misaligned for the hitch receiver, consider moving it around and tilt it a little bit to find the right spot to put the screw in place.
