jeremyelstein: I installed this on my motorcycle and absolutely love it! It was rather easy to install and now i don't have to worry about theives using a screwdriver to break my ignition anymore- in fact security cams caught someone trying to figure out how to start it a few days ago and leaving frustrated and without my bike! Especially love the rfid card key, will have to see about printing and coding my own cards to disguise my key even further....i will say i have concerns about the company aelling the item- it took far too long for them to respond to my queries for a new hardcopy of the instructions via email and the phone number they have listed in product packaging and on amazon appears to be a fake number....but they did eventually answer and address my issue.

Devon Day: Put this in my 2001 Toyota Tundra with no factory alarm or immobilizer. Provides a layer of security to help prevent potential theft. Have something similar in my '91 CRX, which stopped an attempted theft of the car outside of my workplace, so I know that these work.
Something to keep in mind, however, is the brown wire. As another reviewer pointed out, the module will drop the 12v connection on the brown wire while it cranks. My Tundra, as a result, wouldn't start as it requires 12v to be present on both ignition wires. My solution was to combine my ignition 1 and ignition 2 wires together, this way both my ignition wires will have 12v while cranking, allowing the truck to start.
I also like that the module can be programmed with other RFID tags. This allowed me to program it to also use the tag that I use for my Honda, that way I'm not carrying around more than I need. The procedure for programming the module is included in the manual.
As far as the manual goes, it's pretty simple to follow if you're familiar with car wiring. Didn't take me long to figure out the table detailing what each color wire was for. I was able to then cross reference it with a table...

Amazon CustomerAmazon Customer: This is a nice little gadget. I've had it for a few weeks, which is not really long enough to know how reliable it will be, but it's cheap so even if it only lasts a couple of years, I don't mind buying another one.
The instructions are clear and straightforward. You will need a multimeter to identify the correct leads on your car's wiring loom, which will take time and patience. It will be easier if you have a typical passenger vehicle (e.g. Toyota Camry) but likely more difficult if your car is European with non-standard wiring colours (mine is an Alfa Romeo).
You do *not* need to connect it to every wire available on your car's wiring loom, and you *may* need to remove one of the power plugs connected to your steering column (I had to unplug the one with the constant 12v supply).
The Easyguard is very fussy about the quality ground connection, so make sure you get this right.
I tried connecting to my dashboard's ground wire, but that was not enough and the unit refused to turn on properly. I then tried connecting to the driver's seat frame, which worked for a few minutes and then blew a fuse. After some searching, I was able to find a factory ground...

Roger: The media could not be loaded. The device works and is easy very to install. It's a perfect compliment to my cars rfid door lock.
However, I was expecting an idle power consumption of around 10 milliwatts. Turns out it's fluctuating between 20 and 65 milliwatts. I haven't done a long term measurement, but I expect it's around 40-45 milliwatts. When active the power consumption is 70 milliwatts. I wouldn't leave my car for many days during winter at -30C before the battery would be dead.
Compare this to the rfid door lock, which are a powered rfid reader, 2 LED's and a wiegand controller where all combined draws about 12 milliwatts.
Final issue I have is that you can only have a total of 4 programmed tags. I need 5, so I need to buy a card copier and blank tags as well.

Dan: how it works in my car.....[...]
bought this to change the car up a bit and replace the old style key it started to wear down a bit and wouldn't always work. first will start with quality everything in the box is about a 8 and a half on a 1/10 scale which is not bad at all. The RFID tags are plastic which s fine but i definitely would recommend picking up a couple more so if you have other family members that drive that car you dont have to keep taking the tags off. The button its self i was shocked and is really nice looks like a factory button from any new vehicle. The module itself is plastic and that fine because its meant to be hidden anyways aswell as the reader ring. this is a good buy aswell if your rebuilding a car and dont wanna pay 100$ for a lock cylinder as well.
something that will have buyers hesitant is where the instructions ask you to cut your key and leave it in your ignition. THIS YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DO! you do not have to do this they best way to go is to remove the cyclinder lock entirely you can easly google how to remove your lock cyclinder from what ever car you have.
Install:
who can install it? id say anybody....if you have the...
