Glen R: I got sick of taking care of other peoples trash that quickly filled up my bin. I also had people going through my garbage which isn’t good. It took a bit of hunting to find a lock that would work on the lid design. Thanks to the flexible design of the cable, this lock did the trick.

John: I suits my needs just fine, but I can picture someone being able to cut/break through it without too terribly much trouble. But I realize that's going to be true of most things, if a thief wants something bad enough they are likely going to be able to. It is a strong cable, but a hacksaw or especially something powered would probably be able to get through it.

GARY CROWELL: The media could not be loaded. At the apartment complex I live at (6 buildings) there are 3 park benches. I put 2 bicycle drink bottle holders on the arm rests of each bench. Someone kept stealing some of the bottle holders. Since putting a cable gun lock on each bottle holder none of the bottle holders have gone missing.

anony ms: This does the trick. And by that, I mean it fits into the hole on the gate latch that was constructed too close to the post, preventing me from using a real padlock. There are two things I don't like about this lock. First, the keys are t-i-n-y. Like so small, there is no way to attach them directly to your keychain. Second, on the lock I purchased, you have to have the key engaged to lock the lock. You can't just shove the shank end into the lock and be done with it. You have to fish out the key, open the lock, stick in the shank and then remove the key to lock.

Trevor W: Using this on my Lever action rifle and fills the role. Main issues with this is the sharp metal ridges on the end of the cables, had to electrical tape them to not damage my rifle and the lock mechanism feel loose.
