Corey Demerchant: works as intended, hopefully I don't have any problems! I will update my review if I do have any issues later

Mackenzie Maddox: The media could not be loaded. I’ve tried other options out there and this is by far the easiest, mess free way to get accurate results. Would buy again!

H B Campbell: Very helpful for salt water aquarium

Client: This salinity refractometer is as good as the much more expensive digital meter. It is essential for any marine aquariums enthusiasts, easy to use, and needs a good source of light.

Kamran A.: Have been using it for a few weeks and it’s been reading great, I was worried it only showed the salinity I wanted to see so I checked it with DI water and with various salinity’s based on amounts of resolved saltwater tank salt, based on calculated amounts it read perfectly. Couldn’t be happier!

OrganicOrientation: Wish it came with a little bit of calibration fluid, however seems dead accurate on arrival! Always nice to be certain tho!

Gord: I have always used a hydrometer to measure my salinity. Many on the forums insist on a refractometer so we purchased this. It takes ok me a few minutes to view a reading as I didn’t know you had to used the back focus to adjust to your eyesight. I do get the same reading from my hydrometer but this is much quicker and less likely to read falsely as small bubbles can hinder accuracy of the hydrometer.

Stacey S: Did not receive any instructions on how to use this and did not receive the cloth to wipe the testing area with. I think I’ve figured it out but it sure would be nice if I had proper instructions 🙄

Real_World_Customer: This tool is now indispensable to me.
I use this to test the water for my brine shrimp.
I make small frozen brine shrimp cubes with those silicone molds/trays I get here on Amazon.
My fresh water fish, no matter the size of my hand or as small as a neon tetra love them and they are more colorful than just feeding flakes.
Being on a tight budget, I did not get calibration solution.
I tested tap water, distilled water and bottled water and the tap water and distilled were were the same. The bottled water was a bit higher so, I calibrated with distilled water heated to 79 degrees F.
I hatch my shrimp in ~25 - 30 just under 1.020.
About 5 tablespoons of regular sea salt in just under a gallon of tap water with a touch of stress coat.
I can easily and quickly check that my water (kept at 79 degrees F) is right on with this tool.
My shrimp start hatching in ~12 hours under bright LED lights that are continually on.
At 24 hours I put about 10 grains of Caputo yeast in with them and harvest at ~36 to ~48 hours based on my schedule. I prefer 48hrs the shrimp are a little bigger.
I have in fact raised them to a week old but, it's just not as efficient for me...

Randy Smith Jr.: These tools have to be calibrated to the correct specs in order to be effective. Even a small vial of the fluid required to do so would have been better than nothing. Meter works great but just understand that you can't use it out of the box without calibrating it. Most LFS will do it for you though.
