There's not much to it, but it immediately provides safe water. I use this during water changes to dechlorinate my water. I have been using this product for a few years (since start of my fish hobby) and I have ordered it through Amazon every time. Always seems to be in stock for two-day shipping. I may have to get a different size at times to get two-day shipping, but it's definitely worth it. Side note the quality has been consistent through my time of purchasing.

NitroNarc: This is the only product I will use for removing chlorine from my aquarium water. SeaChem products work great. I've been using them for years and trust their brand.

Jennifer: I got this water primer after my fish got fin rot and was really doing poorly. I used it along with antibiotics but I think it does a better job treating the water than a different brand I was using. Only drawback is the dosing guide. I have a 5 galling tank and the smallest instructions are for 10 gallons, so you just kind of have to guess. I think it works great though and this bottle will last a long time!

Montinee Pongsiri: TLDR: Prime is not a miracle product that can prevent "new tank syndrome". It works on chloramines, but not on ammonia, which is equally toxic to fish and invertebrates. If you have ammonia in your tap water, you will need to use something else when cycling your tank with livestock in it.
Long version:
If you have chloramines in your tap water, you need to either buy or generate RO (reverse osmosis) water, or use a conditioner like Prime to prevent the chloramines, which are highly toxic to fish and invertebrates, from killing your livestock. To that end, Prime works well, even for San Diego tap water, which is notorious for having high levels of chloramines.
However, Prime also claims to "detoxify" ammonia, presumably ionizing it and changing it from NH3 to NH4 (ammonium). If you perform even a cursory search online, you will find numerous forum postings about the effectiveness (or lack thereof) of Prime. Many hobbyists and even some chemists have tested this claim and found no evidence that the proportion of NH3 to NH4 is any lower after treating with Prime.
This lack of evidence for the "detoxifying" effects of Prime on ammonia is important because...

Bbass8: I'd been struggling for a few years trying to get good water for my fish and was relying on rain water for water changes.
I was getting problems when needing to use the Hampshire tap water when it didn't rain enough and adding Aquasafe just didn't seem to help.
I googled Seachem and thought it seemed expensive but wanted to try something that might work. This stuff requires 8 drops to my big 4 gallon water change bucket. I thought that can't be right but it's close enough. Along with the initial extra dose to sort tank out. My fish have been much happier. To the extent a gourami was wasting away and not eating. Now she's back the the front of tank wanting food. It took 3 weeks for her to recover and fill out again.
I will only use this now and actually works out very economical to use as you need so little per gallon.
