Scott's Turf Builder Grass Seed: Ideal for Pacific Northwest Lawns

WAP: Terrible product. Waited until spring to plant, spread all over area, but seeds only sprouted 8% of the area I covered. So lame. I purchased it in October and cannot get a refund back.

MW: This is good grass seed for the wet, cool winters and dry, hot summers in Seattle. Summers in Seattle can go for 80 days without significant rain but winters we see week after week of rain and gray skies. This mix handles both well

Sherril Collins: We planted a week ago (late September) in the PNW and the baby grass has sprouted everywhere. So satisfied with the germination rate and lack of weeds in this seed. Pay a little more to get the best quality!

S. Jamison: Agitated soil.
Used Scotts premium soil mix. Mixed with soil with dirt. Added seed. Agitated areas again to get a mix of everything. Some areas grew very densly. Some other areas nothing.

Reapplying technique and hoping for better results.

M.Barnes: I see this seed has a pretty low overall rating and I suspect it's due to lack of prepping the area and providing sufficient water. I have used this several times to patch areas damaged by the neighborhood dogs doing their business on my front lawn. Clean up the area by removing the dead grass first. Place the seed and applying a light covering of planting soil has worked the best for me. Ensure you provide sufficient water during the day to keep the area moist - this has given me consistent results. I tried just spreading the seed over larger areas (overseeding) but haven't had quite the same experience. I will continue to buy this seed when the need comes up.
