Cynthia: Very easy to grow. Put on top of refrigerator & it worked perfectly. Just remember it's up there! Older cat didn't much care, but kitten loved it. Wish it lasted longer. Working to give cats something they prefer instead of my house plants.

Quality Shopper: My 3-year old cat is CRAZY IN LOVE eating this grass! Every morning he greets me by walking me over to the grass, which I have stored on top of fridge (so he doesn’t eat it all in one sitting), I clip some pieces off, and he gobbles them up while purring:-) This, along with adding a bit of cat pumpkin to his wet food, has helped him get through his weight loss program. My 1-year old cat just does get it (so funny)!
I was originally gifted the wooden rectangular box cat grass kit with plastic insert. I was getting mold on top of soil after grass came up. The sides on box are too high and plastic insert doesn’t have drainage holes with catch basin for proper air flow.
So I bought this kit because it has lower sides and holes at bottom (with catch basin) that I thought would help with air flow to prevent mold - it works!!!
I also soaked/rinsed the seeds for a couple of minutes before planting (per comments from others) - not sure if this also helped prevent mold but it doesn’t hurt.
The instructions say to add a bit of water when top of soil dries out. I just lightly sprinkle water droplets on top when the surface looks a bit dry. Next time I’m going to try...

The seller reached out to me today and apologized for any inconvenience and offered me a refund. I am impressed with that type of customer service and will give it a try again. I grow the grass for my dog to eat instead of him eating outside grass that gets sprayed with pesticides. It really helps his with his tummy issues. Thank you Cat Ladies.
I've purchased this grass several times but I'm done with buying it. Half the time all 3 plantings grow mold within a short period of time and therefore is not usable. Other times it's grown without mold. Very disappointing.

Lisa PattonLisa Patton: The directions are straight forward and easy to follow. The grass started sprouting within the second day, a few days later it was tall enough for her to eat. She gravitated to it instantly, and now it's her favorite treat.
I can certainly see a difference in my cat's energy level since eating the grass along with other things she'd been lacking nutrition wise.
I know some people have experienced problems with molding. I didn't have that issue personally. The only things I could assume is maybe climate and/or over-watering. We also tend to keep our house on the warmer side during the summer months, so I don't know if that had anything to do with it.
EDIT: I discovered that 3 tablespoons during growing and upkeep work well this. Prior to I was concerned about the molding, so I kept watering on the lighter side.

JLMJLM: This was super easy to grow. I tried three different volumes of water and found that 18 tbsps of water was the ideal amount to start with. I live in a dry climate, so needed a little extra to boost the seeds.
My cats however have no interest in eating it.
I have begun using it in my own veggie smoothies though and love it!

Amazon Customer: We have used one pack & it grew quickly & thickly. However the grass blades are thicker than other grasses we have bought & the cats don’t seem to be as interested. Maybe the taste is different than what they are used too also.

Make sure you rehydrate your soil with warm water and only plant your seeds at a depth of 1/8". Please do not bury your seeds too deeply, or they will not sprout. Avoid overwatering and provide them with plenty of bright light throughout the day, but direct sunlight is unnecessary. The most common "oops!" is planting too deep and overwatering, so take it easy on the water. |

And they are very easy to grow.
One thing I learned to do is when it finally grows to 4 inches, I put it out for my cats at night, then in the morning I water it and put it back up by the window sill. Seems to make them last a long time!
